@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog I didn't understood what he's asking. I close voted. There are already 4 votes are there in queue. Later I found Tim's comment
I'm re-opening this because I think I figured out what's going on. — Tim Post ♦2 hours ago
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog My mother-in-law to this day thinks I'm a director at the Stock Exchange. I don't have the heart to correct her, or the emotional wherewithal to explain what I actually do.
just smile .. and nod ... and encourage A or B questions to which you simply answer "yes" a lot. Heck, if you could do that, you'd make a great community manager.
tl;dr: it's feasible, but not via the inbox - we'd need some sort of rollup or profile page or per-person queue to expose these.
Alternately, a system allowing folks to subscribe to notifications on any post of their choosing would both suffice for this and solve a great many other problems.
Unfortunately, none of those are trivial features.
I have nothing useful to say there that hasn't already been said.
Philosophically, it's a good idea if we can put an upper limit on the amount of noise that is generated. IOW, the utility of the idea hinges on the technical approach. As with almost any feature
@Shog9 What if you made a tab in the user's profile that was just a list of all the posts they downvoted? ;)
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog I don't necessarily think that many users care what happens after they downvote. There is a way to at least see what was downvoted, and to be honest, I would be rather shocked if many users ever went through that list to see what became of the posts.
Yup, we do. If users were so inclined, they could at least go through from time to time and look, maybe even for the past day. However, I would be shocked if anyone had ever done that more than once. The click through rate on the downvote tab in the actions tab on the profile is probably statistically 0.
I just don't think many users care enough. Should make "downvote and move on" t-shirts...
I don't like getting notifications when they're people arguing about something irrelevant in comments on posts I write... though, that won't be a problem any more. :P
@TimPost @Shog9 What do you think of the feature request to disallow users from deleting their own questions within 24 hours of the first answer being posted? This would take care of the edge cases where a user is able to delete their question and the answer hasn't had a chance to receive any upvotes.
Currently, authors can't delete their own question
if it has multiple answers
if it has a single answer with one or more upvotes, even if it has a negative score
if it has an answer with an awarded bounty
I ask that another criterion be added, to prevent authors from deleting their question w...
You might see this in tags surrounding things people try to accomplish at work, so it's no coincidence that you'd observe this with Excel. If you've put a substantial amount of effort into something that was deleted before it could be up-voted in the course of the question author deleting their q...
@Catija Out of curiosity, are you planning to bake anything for Bennett's second birthday?
