In general, there's nothing wrong with site recommendation questions, no. There are a few reasons why your question may have been downvoted:
1. It's not clear what you're asking. Remember that users on MSE aren't necessarily experts in every subject we cover but we are (sometimes) experts in what subjects the network covers. So getting a better idea that a non-mobile computing expert will understand will help get you to an answer.
