(of how we found a dying dove, called a rescue... and went to check on it... and suddenly, it turned out someone threw it, alive into the bottom of a full trash bag)
@doppelgreener why not? I can totally see this happening. e.g. my daughter used permanent marker that can't be washed away to write "DO NOT OPEN" on her drawer, not knowing it can't be removed. 3 years old kid might not grasp the fact that freezing a parrot will kill it.
@ShadowWizard reddit comments go into it, but basically if a 3 year old were to try to stick a parrot in a plastic bag and put that in the freezer, the parent would instead find a plastic bag half torn open from the inside, a parrot covered in blood, and a mauled child
@doppelgreener if the parrot trusts the kid he won't try to fight when being put in the bag. As for trying to tear the bag, well, can't know how animals react to extreme cold...
@Henders I think... maybe Google has some stats, dunno.
I saw fluffy nicey kitties remember their lion heritage when you try to put them in a per carrier. Don't underestimate the power of "you won't take me to the veterinary"
@Henders There was a news article just yesterday about how farmers are no longer allowed to use the most aggressive means of pest control for mice, and how that has likely led to an increase in barn fires that kill loads of animals
I've encountered a clip on Youtube showing a goldfish thrown in liquid nitrogen and immediately after to normal water and swimming normally. In the explanation to the clip it says:
For everyone that is worried about the goldfish, it survived and was perfectly fine until we fed him and a few o...
@Tinkeringbell Yep, apparently Christmas trees are a common one too. Once the real tree dries out, it's basically just a bunch of kindling sat in your house.
@Henders Yep. Another one that I know is charging devices and cooking. We actually had a cooking related fire at home once (Small, and contained, but we did need to repaint the ceiling in the kitchen)
@Tinkeringbell Yep, I understand the freezing. The fire dept asked me a bunch of questions when I called them. Some I just couldn't answer because my brain didn't work.
Mom promised she'd help me shorten some pants. So she put a pan on the stove, with some butter already in it, ready to turn on as soon as she was done pinning the pants at the correct length. In a move of automation, she already turned the stove on too. So halfway through pinning my pants, she looked into the kitchen and saw the flames...
@Tinkeringbell yeah, when cooking with oil/butter I often reach the point when the stove starts to smoke badly. If fire isn't turned off, it won't end well.
@Henders true, but it requires the dryer to be next to a window, which isn't possible in our house design. (Not with non trivial changes that aren't worth it)
I just thought of a proper analogy! Whenever we touch an open wound, even by mistake, it hurts, and makes us whine about the wound again even if it's few days old. Only when the wound heals it no longer hurts to touch the place where it was located.
@ShadowWizard I don't know what you'd consider 'good egg salad'... but for me that's a lot of eggs, some kind of paste/sauce that holds the pieces together and a bit of chive mixed in :)
@ShadowWizard Take a fork. Take three hard-boiled eggs. Mash eggs. Take a spoon. Take mayonnaise. Put a spoon of mayonnaise in the mashed egg. Mix. Take pepper. Sprinkle depending on how much you like pepper. Mix. Eat.
@ShadowWizard look, I just wanted to post a joke and not to restart this again, but for me the fact that some messages staff members posted weren't exactly nice in regards of the community is far worse than acting on a whim. They are free to act as they want, the network is their and we are just guest here. But I would hope to not be considered a thorn in the side or a sacrificable resource.
But really, please, if we really have to at least let's move this to another room, would we?
@Derpy That's going to be one chunky egg salad then, or those are really small shapes... and then how are you going to fill them without making an absolute mess?
@Henders hmm... on second thought, why won't you keep the house warm even when it's cold outside, this way you can eat even cold breakfast and still enjoy. :P

Can this please be fixed? Pretty sure it's related to the responsive design or left nav bar somehow, though can't see what's really causing it.
...and besides, if anyone does have something to say about it, they'll say it on Facebook or Twitter. Which is where it'll be announced and promoted and hopefully found before sinking beneath the waves.
2 weeks later "What'd I miss while I was gone?" "Oh the entire core userbase hates our guts right now and we caved again to twitter pressure. Just a normal thursday really" :p
