Well, then know that the other, more offensive meaning originally had nothing to do with the character name.

to be fair, Derpy originally was just an animation error in episode 1

only after the fans gave her a name the writers of the show decided to make her a recurrent background character.

Also, that double meaning of the word backfired tremendously, at least once

after that incident, the character was avoided for a long time. Only returning "recently" (and now she is even hidden in the opening sequence)

... I can't speak for the entire network, but I can tell you that on M&TV we specifically had a policy that you tag based on the question, never the answer.

It was most obvious with ID questions... Someone asks "what's that movie about a bunch of dinosaurs being brought back to life in a park from the 90s?" You don't tag it jurassic-park after the fact.
