@JourneymanGeek ;) I guess I could convert it to one at some point with some heuristics, but it seems pretty straightforward as a problem to me. Maybe they were already aware of this?

What about a fairy tale about kingdom of amazon ... you know the kind where it's divided into two: half, mainly tall muscular, strong women living in a kingdom existed in a sub dimension. Those are known in the mythology as Amazon warriors. The other half lives on earth, they are mainly skinny geeky men who can program, who also works for Amazon. Earth Amazon mascot is a gigantic sales person ...

@JourneymanGeek - The structured data stuff, may also be rich data as a side note, is controlled by a dev by marking up either the page in the head element, or the elements with certain data attributes.

@TravisJ Oh, @Catija is the one who asked
I don't know exactly what it is but I know enough to fake it ;p
and I still think that's a thing for main meta
To be honest, making a post about it would take quite a bit of research that I was hoping to avoid in the hopes that whoever is in charge would realize that using that utility was causing a smaller set of search results to be served through Google.
06:34
Its meta. get the basic stuff started and people will start chipping in in the comments ._.
Hi, my name is Travis, and I am a perfectionist.
It either all or nothing.
Someone at the company has to have access to the Google Search Console for stackoverflow.com
They would be the most informed person with regards to this topic.
@TravisJ they probably do!
It is actually so bad that when I google I have to also type in stackoverflow.com
(horribly inconvenient in case anyone was wondering)
06:37
but there's $variable number of developers in 3-5 different product lines who sometimes work cross project + I think their number crunchy people would be involved and...
*data scientists
#thecrew
(I mean, I've seen folks from ads and careers poke into meta, and vaguely remember them fixing some QA related stuff)
(If I had to wager a guess, I would blame ask Kevin Montrose)
I could also be wrong (psh, because that happens), and showing only one result in Google could somehow be beneficial to the efficiency if it was always navigated through. Although, the problem with Stack Overflow is that your answer is totally there, or there, or there, it is in one of these questions I just can't seem to remember... ah! There it is.
and if google does it right, you just stop there
user202362
@TravisJ beer and cupcakes don't go together, meh think ...
06:49
waaat
Yeah, but that doesn't happen when broad terms are used, which is a majority of the time. Often, when you are sure there are related solutions to a problem you aren't exactly sure how to approach, casting a wide net is a good idea. That approach is stifled by the current search results. It isn't really Stack Overflow's fault, it is google's fault for only including one result when there should be many, solely because it shows the marked up data in a little navigation system.
Or, to meme it...
One does not simply onebox Stack Overflow.
