2:10 PM
@ProgramFOX Run the mongod process!

@bjb568 facepalm Thanks!

:P

Ugh, I suck at this.
@bjb568 How do I have to start mongod? Just running mongod in the Terminal gives an error.

You need to give it a dbpath. And you need to create a folder for that dbpath.

oh, k

2:17 PM
Like mkdir /wherever and mongod --dbpath /wherever

No
Vote lock is stupid.
fixed the bot dying from rate limiting bug.

I'm kinda confused about his voting strategy, though
@bjb568 uh oh

var ce = document.createEvent("HTMLEvents");
ce.initEvent('click', true, true);
document.getElementsByClassName('pending')[0].getElementsByTagName('a')[2].dispatchEvent(ce);

What if there's no pending... element?

2:22 PM
Then deal with it.

That's what try { ... } catch { ... } is for.
Or, you know, you could use jQuery instead. ;)

jQUERY SUX

(Or even just document.querySelector(), which should do the trick just fine.)

do() || !do()
//try{...} -- syntax error

@IlmariKaronen Wat.
Do you not understand how to javascript?
Using document.querySelector does absolutely nothing different.
If it returns null you're screwed.
getElementsByClassName [0] is undefined you're screwed.
In fact document.querySelector is document.querySelectorAll's [0], and document.querySelectorAll of a class is document.getElementsByClassName of its name.
mumbles something about jQuery infecting people

2:30 PM
Mmm, you're right, it would just defer the problem.

mumbles something about how jQuery is so awful he wants to go wash off parasites again

Well, you *could* always do `(document.querySelector('...') || someDummyElement).dispatchEvent(ce)`, but that's just getting ridiculous.

@bjb568 MongoDB is now set up, but auth fails...

2:46 PM
@ProgramFOX Yeah, I get that too.

@SmokeDetector ignore

@Sompuperoo Post ignored; alerts about it will not longer be posted.

@Sompuperoo why not just fix it?

@JanDvorak I did suggest already

oh.

Omg, look!

 Smart Developers' Lab

Try to stick to English, Post your Query elaborate as best as ...
Help vamp room puts up a message in their description "Don't be a HELP-VAMP"

Was that a help vamp room?

A wild foobar has appeared!

Should I put that in Tavern's description? "no help-vamps, no gaming hats and no botlings" :P

Why no gaming hats? :(

No will pin

what is the easiest site to get upvote on for first post?

@Sompuperoo Waiting until somone wants the Warm Welcome hat.
;)

@Sompuperoo Kofia hat?
Just make an answer on a SO [regex] question - don't use regex

@Unihedro I guess it has to be a first post, so you have to do on site you haven't left answer/question on before
@ProgramFOX i think i read it only counts for users that have 1 rep

@Sompuperoo I think the hat description was that your first post made during the period has a positive score
like Hello World from 2013

3:21 PM
!eval "!eval 'Ooh, can I play too?'"

kewl

shouldn't be too hard to figure out, has anyone made a post in the last 13 hours that is +1 or more? Did you receive the Kofia hat for it?

@Sompuperoo Not me.
I'm going to try to write an answer though, and get Major Award while I'm at it

@IlmariKaronen has so many active accounts and contributions, amazing! o_O

Wow, indeed!

3:28 PM
I may have written an answer without getting a hat puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/6415/…

yep^ so has to be real first post, not any post

:(

That makes it incredibly h- omg botling

jan needs more hats

@bjb568 Cool, thanks!

Take the botling to DD chat. It will give you an edge over SE chat!!

Nah.

Hmm, so you are sabotaging your competitor (SE)

3:37 PM
@bjb568 Getting an error:
TypeError: Property 'createUser' of object DevDoodle is not a function

wat

Ugh, my remote git won't clone because it wants my SSH key.

@ProgramFOX If it's not a function, what is it? typeof db.createUser

@bjb568 object

function (userObj, writeConcern) {
    var commandExisted = this._createUser(userObj, writeConcern);
    if (!commandExisted) {
        throw Error("'createUser' command not found. This is most likely because you are " +
                    "talking to an old (pre v2.6) MongoDB server");
    }
}
^ What I get :P
Probably not good.

3:39 PM
@inf @otherdeserters , lifehacks changed that rule you didn't like , so you no longer need to include what you've tried meta.lifehacks.stackexchange.com/questions/1256/… , reopen your accounts, post posts, join us again

@Sompuperoo ?!
So... is Shog undeleting the questions?

Aha, I'm using an older MongoDB version.
I should still use addUser().

@Unihedro I have no idea, just learned of this myself.

@ProgramFOX Okey

gah, now I get errors when using that ಠ_ಠ
I getter update my MongoDB :P

3:41 PM
@Sompuperoo I left because I didn't like the community. The guys in there ask questions as imaginary girls and squabble about gender issues on Meta. I didn't have any issues with scope. So, no thanks, not going back :)

@ProgramFOX Good idea
