Hi, I'd like to revive an old expired question on serverfault that I just got reminded of when going through my notes. It reminds me of the older times, it has a pretty wtf-worthy issue and screenshot, and at some point I found an answer, or at least an obvious way to deal with it. Anyone free to help me out?

The term is "deleted", not "expired", by the way.

usually, dirty socks, even the darker colored one have a slight brilliance/spark on them, which indicate that they could be dirty...

It's hard to explain as i don't have a picture at hand, but yeah, def look clean to me

Sure, yeah. These messages are typically worded in a fairly blunt way to convey the message of; "You broke a rule or two, this isn't a debate, stop (or come back after your suspension)"

I believe mods can send a custom message, but it's used rarely so as to avoid back-and-forth.

it's not like sending a custom messages changes how the mod message system works; it's exactly the same if it's a template or custom

the only real difference is that what template you choose affects the banner shown on their profile for a suspension

Neat that that banner message is customizable too. "suspended for posting programming questions on Meta" was quite the interesting one to come across.

Pretty sure you can only customize it like that through a sanitization bug. Unless you're sending boxes of squirrels.

It's a super complicated task I got, which I chose to do with pure SQL.

Something that should fill missing charges for sport teams where the payment process is bugged. Long and boring story. :D

Since it's SQL Server 2014, I don't have even Split, so using my own alternative.

You should be able to pass your mouse across them quickly, moving to somewhere else, without activating them; otherwise you'd get an eruption of bubbles everywhere (assuming all elements have a tooltip).

I'd kind of like it if there were a delay, like the other tooltips.

@Rob If I dash my mouse across the screen like a cat seeing a cucumber, it doesn't show, but if it's like "normal fast", it shows right up.

We've added a 300ms delay on all tooltips. Thought about making it configurable per tooltip, but ultimately landed on consistency being more important. Thanks for the request!

Q: How long should the delay be before a tooltip pops up?

I'm working on web site in which a "ribbon" submenu pops up as soon as the mouse touches one of the main menu items. I'm trying to explain to the designer that it should wait until the cursor has rested on the menu item, and not pop up when the mouse just happens to pass over it. I'm not sure how...
