oh wow that latest spam (post 353263, won't link here) contains such accurate instructions, it's amazing. Doctors give much less details. lol

meh... the cabinet door was half broken for years.... the wooden cabinet was attached loosely to the wall.... when the door hit his head, he grabbed the door and tried to take it out, but, well, it caused the whole cabinet to fall. Anything inside it and below it crashed.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask It's all in the planning, I brew real coffee in advance (and let it cool overnight) and keep a couple of flasks chilled in the fridge ready to make proper iced coffee. As long as I brew the coffee at the same rate as I drink it I have a ready supply in my fridge.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Python! Thanks, I'm glad you like it :-) it's the design of my original Gravatar identicon, but with...somewhat more color :-)
@ShadowWizardWearingMask It is also related to the pride flag :-) I was originally going to use the exact colors listed on the Wikipedia page, but they ended up being too dark, so I brightened the green/blue/purple up a bit
Here at Stack Overflow, we recently held our first Community-a-thon event. We wanted our employees to learn more about the SE network and how it feels to use it so they can get a better sense of what it’s like to be a user here.
Admittedly the idea was born out of spite: Build a one-digit number
But I think our community is creatively committed (not to say crazy) enough to make this happen.
Let's set up a face-to-face meeting with nice eating. Fairies will be earnestly scolded but otherwise treated cordially. Paying for ...
Today is filled with great words. "Post-Corona-StackOverflow-Glutton-And-Fairy-Roast"
Also what do they think we did before the quarantine. It was not like we threw parties and were whimsical on every turn. Trump was escalating conflict into war.
@M.A.R. Hmm. I put up a flag nonetheless, let the mods figure it out. In combination with the scolding it sounds a bit off to me...
I might just be modding things for too long though.
@RyanM Ugh. Ours is old and the attachment compartment no longer has a lid... so the attachment are always in places where they aren't supposed to be ;)
Is it heavy? I've been wanting a cordless vacuum for my apartment, but I keep thinking it might be more heavy than one with a cord? Because the cordless ones usually also have the vacuuming part not on the ground...
Designs like that make me wonder why they put the vacuum part up high, and not low... now it seems you have to lift a lot more... Somehow a design like this seems much more sensible to me!
I would think the stick kinda acts as a lever to push/pull the weight that's on the ground instead of acting as a lever for lifting O.o
@RyanM Yeah, then it's really useful... that's why I've been considering getting one too. Ease of use, just suck the crumbs of the counters instead of trying to wipe them up without getting them on the ground.
@Tinkeringbell Think about where the centre of gravity is. It's much easier to move the sucky end when the biggest part of the mass is near your hand. The total mass is the same.
@RyanM Eh, I will probably buy one as soon as I actually move... my current room is already full of boxes of stuff that will need to move too, I don't think I have room to store a vacuum :D
@DavidPostill That makes sense. Even though I still think lifting it will eventually feel heavier than just pushing it back and forth on a few wheels, if that makes sense? If you put a heavy thing on wheels, and push, I can usually get it farther than when I have to lift it...
@DavidPostill Sometimes I don't feel like being on the floor when cleaning along the baseboards...or between the bed & the wall where I can't fit the entire vacuum
@JohnDvorak why? For them it would like roller coaster. Then you can always take them out of the cleaner and place them back in their natural position. :)

They banned peanut butter long ago, that (amongst others things) spoiled lunch. Best to live near school (when you are very young) so you can go home for lunch.
@Rob Eh, I haven't heard of that being a thing here but I know that many schools in the US are completely nut free and milk free and some with even more wacky restrictions, due to liability concerns.
@mag I know that it was the task of the lunch supervisor to oversee that kids weren't trading snacks back when I used to oversee a class of kids at lunchtime back in university.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask There were... many rules. But yes, one of them was making sure the kids ate all their own food... which implies I couldn't take anything away since then they wouldn't have eaten all of their food :P
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Cuz that's where you want to handle food - that's the whole idea of not trading, you don't know the preparation conditions or ingredients.
