IIRC I used to get notifications for comments even if the post is deleted just after the comment.

I got a notification on the "obsolete" app but not on website/mobile site.

Even though the question there also states: : I have re-uploaded my profile picture and the 'Save and copy' function worked. It appears that this is actually a bug to do with the old images from Gravatar.

@Tinkeringbell It's the same issue (as far as I can tell). Yes, reuploading works. But I first had to download my profile pic from Gravater. That's not easy. I first got a low-res one. Had to click through Gravatar's website to find the high-res one.

@Tinkeringbell and now I got a non-transparent white background in my pic.

so it's all semioptimal
