@ShadowWizardWearingMask What about Glorfindel vs. stackexchange.com/users/1272425/glorifind - confusingly similar or misspelled names. It should order them by recency, so chances are the most frequent visitor gets the ping and someone who has almost escaped The Tavern gets a chance to make it out the door.

@Rob well, one is Glory Finder, one is Findling the Glory.
@Ollie thanks!
@Ollie something with a hotdog
But better give it to monkeys, at least they would be happy. :D
@Journeyman quick question: can a moderator delete an answer inside a deleted question?
(if so, can suggest flagging as an option here. :))

undelete question, delete answer, delete question :D
as per the comments

@SonictheMaskedWerehog gone and gone
@SonictheMaskedWerehog no worries ;)
@Aibobot gone; it's one of the two above ^^
@ShadowWizardWearingMask low quality stuff all over the network, but aside from the last post on MSE they haven't been posting spam; gonna leave that one alone since it's already suspended
@JourneymanGeek this is the same one as ^

lol
I think we might be both cribbing from smokey

@Rob gone

howdy :D

AHHHH IT IS AS WAS PROPHESIED!
I mean, Hi!

Nice to see you!

11:20 AM
@JourneymanGeek don't worry about that. It's prolly preferable that I have some duplicates in my tabs every once in a while than that these spammers go unnoticed :)
It's also relatively easy for me to notice that they're duplicates too, and dismiss 'em as such
but... don't take this as a green light to just spam me without having some cursory glance to make sure they're dupes xD
would be somewhat ironic if I was spammed about spammers :P

@JNat hmm.... no link anymore but pretty sure it was pure spam on MSE. Will keep an eye. 👁
Maybe two? 👁-👁

@ShadowWizardWearingMask it was, but just 1 out of 3 on MSE. And many not-spam on the rest of the network
also, already suspended on MSE

@JNat Yeah, fair enough.

:D
I think that was done so you could see the spam :D

11:27 AM
@doppelgreener who? ;)

@ShadowWizardWearingMask well this dog mainly, but also jnat and you as well
but nobody else
(i'm kidding with that last bit)

Wow, so much hair
I have 1/50th and it's already annoying
TELL ME YOUR SECRET

oh no...

@ShadowWizardWearingMask What's that thing between the eyes
@MetaAndrewT. Oh no

Q: Question sabotage?

user1001895My question keeps getting closed, again and again, here: Firebase Notifications targeting Android phone fail to show in system tray I believe it's a pretty valid question and other community members couldn't tell me Why this happening

"Is this a sabotage of my question?" "Can you please sabotage my question?" "What's question sabotage?" "Are there any types of sabotage called question?"

Q: Deletion of questions has become very annoying lately

dgkncaThe questions I have been answering lately have started to be deleted. I was at 10021 reputation points and when I woke up in the morning, my 2 answers were deleted and I saw that my reputation dropped to 9976. Has been happening frequently lately. Have the delete votes been increased recently? T...

Rep sabotage
Also probably the only enjoyable thing on meta over the past 24 hours. People have become annoyingly civil lately.
Or maybe they keep all the love and affection to responses to mod messages
@MetaAndrewT. Seriously though, I truly wonder how women can tolerate long hair. Or how men with long hair can tolerate long hair.

11:48 AM
@M.A.R. well, I did wonder about that, since when my hair is long enough, my head feels so heavy...

You must have very heavy hair
I mean, I'd imagine it'd get tangled everywhere and be much more painful etc.

very hair. much strands

Say you're an anime girl with hair down to the waist. How do you sit down?

where "long enough" = "just past they eyebrow"

@MetaAndrewT. Oh crap, that too
Like these often anime guys with one eye covered with hair. How on Earth does that work.

11:51 AM
one-way hair, I guess...

Just imagine hair covering half of your vision for a moment

@M.A.R. Your brain adapts to perceiving depth with 1 eye.

@doppelgreener oh. Hi then! :D
@M.A.R. where? Do you have hairball?
@M.A.R. mini nose

@ShadowWizardWearingMask @Doppel's avatar

@M.A.R. during lockdown I didn't have haircut for about 4 months. It was horrible, though as teenager I had long hair on purpose. Think I didn't have haircut for two years, until I realized it's not really fun.
@M.A.R. ohhh... but it's nice on her. On you or me it won't me nearly as nice. ;)

12:00 PM
Imagines Tom with long hair
Uh, how do I clean my keyboard again?

It's Toooooom

@M.A.R. depends. What substance?

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Just seems like general dirt after a few months

@M.A.R. 1) Lift keyboard. 2) Turn it upside down. 3) Gently tap its backside to have the dirt fall down.
Usually this gives me a small mountain of hairs. ^
Better not do it while focus is inside some textbox.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Didn't work, they're probably charged or something and don't fall down
And it doesn't clean between the keys

12:11 PM
@M.A.R. Just remove all keys, put them in one of those bra nets you use to do the laundry, and put them on a short cycle in the washing machine.
In the meanwhile, use cotton swabs and if needed a tiny bit of cleaning alcohol to clean the rest of the keyboard.
You can use a wet wipe for the larger plastic parts :)

@M.A.R. that's my secret, it's always annoying :D

lol
I used to use this gunk called cyberclean

@M.A.R. so hit harder. They always fall. ;)
@Tinkeringbell risk of having few keys not working after that....

@ShadowWizardWearingMask ? Never had any trouble with it. They're just bits of plastic after all.
Same as cleaning legos or duplos.

@Tinkeringbell bits of plastic attached to something, and there's no simple mechanism to take them out...

12:21 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Oh. Well... mine come off quite easily so I guess it depends on the keyboard then. I just use one of those plastic things that came with my ifixit kit to get them loose.

@Tinkeringbell no kit for me... I can use a knife and take them out, sure, but having two left hands, chances are it won't end well. ;)

Just put the whole keyboard in the washing machine then, and buy a new one ;)

buy a new... washing machine, I guess...

Ironically, my father was a carpenter.
@Tinkeringbell will the letters stick to my shirts? Can be awesome! :P

@ShadowWizardWearingMask I don't know, depends on your type of keyboard again I guess ;)
I would say it's probably better than cactus sticking to your shirts though ;)

12:25 PM
rofl
@doppelgreener I wonder, do you really have long hair IRL? :)

1:18 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMask i do, it's not actually annoying. i like it that way.
i didn't a while back but lockdown has given me the perfect circumstances in which to grow it out again

@doppelgreener nice. My daughter (10 y/o) has long hair, she always complain that it takes ages to wash properly.... and even then, it hurts to loosen up all the knots. :/
Also, is your hair green IRL? ;)
(no worry, I've already seen someone with blue hair here... ;))

That's fair. Different strokes for different folks. Noelle Stevenson, one of my favorite creators, has pretty dense hair so she doesn't like it too long—it gets heavy. Her wife keeps short hair.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask It's not! That'd be neat though
I used to know a girl with very light blonde hair, who after school holidays would come back to school with a green tinge in her hair on account of spending so much time during the holiday break swimming in chlorinated pools. That was always pretty cool. :D

@doppelgreener interesting, Google images show mixed results about hair length. Sometimes she's with really short hair, sometimes not short but also not very long.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask also correct

Depends on her mood?

1:26 PM
a few years ago she had a very short bob cut, then grew it out to an undercut, then grew it out a lot the past two-ish years, and is now back to shorter

@doppelgreener so, what's stopping you? ;)
@doppelgreener oh wow, lol... sure it wasn't just a color?

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Reasons! I totally am dying my hair sometime next year though, just now is not the best time to worry about hair dye lol
@ShadowWizardWearingMask yes, definitely not dye, and heavily chlorinated pools can easily do that

@doppelgreener very true, yeah.... :)
@doppelgreener ouch, had no idea, never saw or heard about it.
If it turns the hair green, wonder how it affects the rest of the body.......... :P

oh yeah. so, the pool she used was very chlorinated because of reasons i don't recall. and chlorine leaves a green tinge on a lot of things—including very pale hair.

(e.g. third leg?! ;))
@doppelgreener maybe because many kids use it, and we all know what kids do in pools.... :D

1:30 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMask well your skin's only going to get significant chlorine exposure on the surface, which it'll then shed. hair getting chlorine exposure on the surface is ... a lot different, since that's pretty much all of it, and the surface doesn't just come off!
and it's only a small amount, hence needing to do a lot of swimming in that environment to have any noticeable effect, and only showing up because she had very light hair to begin with

@ShadowWizardWearingMask how do you always come back to the same topic no matter what people are discussing?? HOW

oh no XD

@Mithical it's my secret super skill. :D

i mean. that's possible. i hadn't considered that.

1:35 PM
And I don't even have to say the word. proud of self

Chlorine makes my hair stringy and feel like straw... totally ruins the curls

@ShadowWizardWearingMask No such command 'swim'.

:(
@Mithical that sucks.... so you avoid swimming pools?

you can maintain swimming pools with other methods, too
like saltwater sanitation or ozone sanitation

1:38 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMask I take a shower. And wash my hair. :P

@doppelgreener probably cost too much...
@Mithical oh. That's an option I never considered. :P
So you also have long hair? @Mith

i mean if you have a pool to begin with, how much is "costing too much"
i'm not sure of the difference, but some family friends have a pool maintained one of those ways (i think the ozone thing)

@doppelgreener any amount above the very minimum it takes to keep it in a state that won't kill people.... ;)

cutting corners! bah

@doppelgreener public pool? Or personal family pool in the yard?

1:41 PM
family pool

So that's totally different.... :)
Pretty sure that such method costs a fortune for big pools.

all the pools i've been discussing or even considering here have been personal family pools :P

@doppelgreener Saltwater is even worse than chlorine water from my hair's point of view.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask depends how you define long

1:44 PM
I had to swim 2km every day every vacation in highschool to treat a back problem I had. It worked. :)

My hair's not that frizzy :P

If it was straight it'd be around shoulder length.

So, more like this one?

....sure, for type of hair

1:50 PM
Just post a pic and we'll be done with it. :D

No :)

:(
Useless bot. :D
omg, my messages here are being tracked!
Advertisement in an online newspaper ^

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMask That looks to be the result of Wireless Energy Transmission.

And yes, those are family pools that I was discussing here.... o_O
(I didn't Google it)
@Rob huh? You lost me on this one.
Usually I can follow your logic, but not on this one, sadly. :/

Rob
2:06 PM
Usually?!, maybe 25% of the time you can't. But you're still a good guy.

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMask What happens when you combine hair and electricity - Jared Polin knows!

@Rob ohhh, you replied to the wrong message then. You replied to a message where I told about my swimming experience as teenager, not to the picture with that hair. So it confused me.
If the reply was correct, I'd have got it easily. ;)

Rob
I thought the hair (actually a picture of someone else) was the result of the swimming - jokingly (as the true cause is not water).
Jul 15 at 6:55, by Shadow Wizard Wearing Mask
Well that can indeed explain how it fits.

2:21 PM
SEDE blip for anyone else?

@Rob nah, it was on a different matter, of @Mithical's hair length.
@rene bloop. Let me check...

@Rob nice key
What does it open?

Rob
Waffling

I saw ad for anti-bacterial key.
Key with a surface that rejects bacteria.

Rob
Does it clean inside your lock.

Rob
Can you poke The Doorbell Licker with it?

2:26 PM
@Rob you can safely let him lick that key, sure.

Rob
The dimples look like they'd retain dirt.

Dirt is safe. ;)
You won't get corona from just dirt.

Rob
What about pig pen dirt?

Corona free as well.
> "Similar to SARS and MERS, there is a suspicion that COVID-19 originated in bats and maybe has an animal intermediate, such as a pangolin (scaly anteater)," Fowler says. "From the perspective of how the disease has spread it has primarily been person to person. There is no evidence of pets, domestic species or even wildlife in the United States playing any role in the disease transmission."

2:39 PM
@Rob too broad. Depends what dirt. If it won't kill me on spot then sure.
Stomach wash costs much less than that.
Plus, in TV shows people eat much worse things..... ;)

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMask it's different for tigers.
