@Rob nice find! Your search skills are im-pressive.
So you put pants. Smart, this way you're protected from dogs and parrots.
I didn't know the color can reach the pants, I'll be careful.

Any news, Mr. v4?

Rob
You mean CH⁴

@MetaAndrewT. thanks for the PR! it should be fixed now. It's live on FF and it's going to be available on Chrome whenever they approve it
@ShadowWizardWearingMask o/

@Rob no, it's not @M.A.R*@M.A.R
@rene the one who was not pinged chewed on it
@g3rv4 \o

The doggy ate it ...

Oh you'll get 'em back in...

Okay 8.5 hours is a fair amount of time

chewing noises

Rob
@ren, you should make a FR to expand dupe hammer to add deletion hammer (especially if over 10K) - possibly restricted test case to MSE only (maybe with a rollout elsewhere).
The dupe hammer test is a half dozen years old, time for an expansion.

Lots of off-topic questions today :/

off topic questions keep the day interesting

3:36 PM
I guess. I get to press a few buttons I suppose.

@Spevacus careful not to press @Magi's buttons

@ShadowWizardWearingMask I dunno what that entails but it sounds dangerous
JMG just decided to clean house on those aforementioned off-topic questions, it seems.

Mar 15 '19 at 13:25, by Magisch
me neither but there was a known bug that if you clicked a certain button rapidly the whole software would die

Have anyone here ever earned a popular question badge in 18 hours or less from asking the question?

3:39 PM
@Spevacus they (he and Tink) do it more often than we think.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask I believe it.

If we do things right no one will notice :D

@AnnZen before the HNQ delay, sure. Now after the delay, not so sure.

HNQ delay?

Hot Network Question delay.

3:40 PM
Yes, now a question can become Hot only 24 hours after being posted. @Ann

Rob
A large Twitter following helps, hugely

Or if you get picked up on some big site

But yes it's possible even without HNQ, e.g. what @Rob said. Any reason you ask? @Ann

@ShadowWizardWearingMask I don't see that's the case.

@Aibobot true. :)
@AnnZen it's not, since question can't be Hot after only 18 hours.

3:42 PM
Of course you can get that badge in 18 hours or less

@AnnZen no, MSE isn't even included in HNQ.

history has no mention of it being hot

I don't mean the "hot" tab in questions page.

where's the hot list?

3:44 PM
And sidebar on any site showing random questions from that list.
So back to your original question, where you saw a question getting 10k views in 18 hours?

I see some asked less than 24hr ago in that list

hmm.... so it's not 24 hours? checking

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMask 8 hours?: puzzling.stackexchange.com/posts/100180/…

Yeah sorry, delay is 8 hours.
status-faulty-memory

3:51 PM
That's okay. I wouldn't say you were that slow, maybe just 8 minutes.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask eight hours - official statement

@Zoe hi

4:21 PM
@Zoe hey

1 hour later…
5:40 PM
I'm experiencing this on Ask Ubuntu while loading suggested edit.
I'm considering to report a bug. I'll do it on Ask Ubuntu Meta if it's specific to Ask Ubuntu.
Can anyone please confirm if the issue persists network-wide?

@Kulfy Confirmed on Super User
@Kulfy Report on meta.se

@DavidPostill Thanks. Reporting on MSE then.

@YaakovEllis hopefully the Review suspensions will be available on MSE too.

@Kulfy 👍

@Rob network wide

Looks like post authors of closed questions will no longer see the users who voted to close in the post notice

Rob
It would be great to add undelete and delete into the category of reviews @YaakovEllis, example:

if you have a request please post on the main site instead of pinging in chat

I was suspended from reviews for 4 months two years back. I assume I have learned lessons.

@Kulfy Repro'd on Meta SE for what it's worth

@Spevacus Note that they can still see it in the post history as normal.

5:51 PM
@Spevacus Posted. (cc @DavidPostill)

@Rubiksmoose Yeppers. Just the post notice was affected, which I think is what we all chatted about with Cat not long ago.

Most people won't bother to go beyond the post notice.

@Spevacus I figured you were aware, just thought I'd add the note in case casual perusers might get panicked about the idea. :)

'Preciate the clarity ;D

Rob
@Kulfy Could it be because it was approved just before you clicked the link?

5:55 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMask And that's fine. I suspect most users don't benefit from knowing that information anyways.
Just my gut feeling.

@Rob no no, it's still pending. There's a 500 Internal Server Error for all /review/suggested-edit-popup

@Rob Nope. Actually that was approved by one of mod with whom I initially shared the error message.

@Rob and anyone else who wants to repro and has >2k on Meta SE: Head over to this question and try to open the suggested edit that's pending on it.

Rob
K, I don't have enough umpf there to see anything, except that it was edited 10 min ago.

in Raiders of the Lost Downboat on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, 11 mins ago, by Zanna
@Kulfy maybe... I got to the edit suggestion in the queue from the timeline and approved it. I don't understand why it didn't work via the link - maybe some tinkering going on with the way suggested edits load on the post
For the completeness ^^^

Rob
5:57 PM
@Spevacus Confirmed.

o7

@Rob you can go here to see what happens.
That's what the AJAX is loading.

I guess something bad happened ;)

@Spevacus Thank you for the edit by the way. I should have re-read my post before posting :D

The mowing?

Tossed a review tag on there as well. Devs are probably on the hunt for review bug reports with the most recent build rolling out.

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Hard to find the Unicode character for that, this was as close as I got: ๛

@Rob for what?
It looks weird even when big

The mowing, 6 leaf clover.
Weird, the ADs you get; when you search for weird things:

@rene hey why @Blue isn't pingable? Pretty sure they were around not long ago... :(

Rob
Sold on Amazon, out of stock.

@rene (thumbs up)

@Rob believe me, I bumped into much weirder things.
What search led you to that, tough? lol
@Rob 6 leaf clover? That Thai character looks like a nose perhaps, that was my best guess.... :D
Reminds me of a cat my daughter drew, which she insisted that it's a rabbit.
Another Clay Shirky user on Meta...

Q: Humor tolerance in stackexchange engine

noelI recently responded to a question on stack overflow (don't look it's probably wrong). I tried to post a link to the Mozilla docs about kerning. I always go to the pubs. Well I personally think that "Let me Google that for You"(Recursion Warning!) is a pretty funny site so I threw the link in the...

I blame myself for being busy these days
People are taking things seriously that shouldn't be taken seriously.
And then you have Rob, with his metalinguistically aware weird humor

Rob
10:16 PM
@M.A.R. I saw the advertisement for your university, good going getting in there:

@Rob Haha

@JourneymanGeek obtaining true mastery of a craft is also the moment when one realizes just how much is left to learn and discover

@LinkBerest So it means it's not a mastery, but it's a mastery because you've mastered the realization of un-mastery
It's complicated

10:35 PM
@M.A.R. I'm very chill
I'm so chill I need a sweatshirt

:/

And your pupils are triangular
Hmm, I'm DejaVuing for some reason
Anyway TIL the flag that looks like multi-flavor lokum is the transgender pride flag
Why is it two of each blue and pink?
Does it represent some statistics or?
Now I want lokum
@Mithical You alright?
There's that funny feeling when you're eating something covered in that floud-sugar mix, and the flour gets wet in your mouse and gives you a feeling that's unpleasant at first but really darn addictive
Now lokum itself is just some goo-like sweet that just . . . tastes sweet. But that flour coating
Mouth waters

10:55 PM
@M.A.R. of course. this complication ensures only masters understand it

Rob
11:09 PM
@M.A.R. That is so true. A bit more than half the employment interviews I've been to the employees 'know something about something' because they've been there for lengths of time varying from a couple of years to more than a decade. --- The problem with their mastery is that the place they worked at previously was a hole, that did such shoddy work it closed; much like the other places they've worked at, often including their current employment.
- They've really only honed their mistakes, their skills are as dull as their wit.
