@JourneymanGeek Oh sure... this doesn't look good at all. But considering that there's probably a company that made an add for a company, then distributed that through another company ... there's at least three levels of fail before we can blame SE ;)

You need to know where the puke is before you can start cleaning.

@xdtTransform Just report them all. Anything you see that isn't very appropriate, just report it. The experiment will be running until the end of the year according to the post, so... don't expect any quick replies but any input will likely be appreciated.

@xdtTransform also lots of calm, carefully collected examples of bad ads is probably going to have more use than lots of people ranting about stuff ;p

So its probably the best we can do as users, especially if you don't run adblock

@xdtTransform interesting enough, most animated ads on sci-fi aren't using a gif but... CSS transformations to cause the animations.

Probably SE told them "Don't use animated gif" so they found a way around.

Which is horrible.

If we have to disable ad block and spam F5 on every site just to list bad ads I feels like we need badge and reputation for it.

SE let their ad provider choose what ads to put. That's the end of it, nothing we can do

@ShadowTheDragonWizard They're testing, and people have been asked to report. Now imagine there are a lot of reports... that's a result.

Nothing new... many sites I visit have evil ads, we can't run away from it.

And perhaps they can contact the ad provider and say 'if you want to keep working for us, no more of this and that'.

Or perhaps they can't, and drop ads entirely.
