@SomewhatMemorableName There was the whole controversy with them allowing unsanitized javascript in a chat message and the game client having a RCE flaw with that
@Magisch huh, first time I heard about that... dunno if it was like that when I played on NA. But yeah, the game client is so old that it's buggier on more modern computer...
@SomewhatMemorableName do you prefer Diablo 3? The one that had online item auctions with real money exchanged... that you could time out and win by changing the date&time on your LOCAL machine?
I still have a character I play from time to time on my xbox. I am not allowed to play pc games anymore. Not really allowed to play xbox much either, it is packed up in the garage at the moment.
And there is no ceiling to how much you want to stack dps - so that's all it becomes about, more dps. That and the unique design make the game extremely formulaic
every class has maybe 2 viable builds and most of these are based on lining up every single ridiculous modifier to maybe do decent damage for 5s every minute
I guess to some degree that played out at Stack Exchange. Kind of different though, since you are getting rewarded for helping people, arguably something that would be done anyway.
But the combative post actions, I really feel like that has gotten better since the blog post. Not sure if that is how other people feel, but that is what I have been noticing.
Yeah, well mindful would be good. Scared would be a tinder box though, which is possible. Hopefully no one doubles down on the message. I think we are in a good place at the moment.
So... With the inclusiveness push... I'm more on the 'everyone should feel at home' boat. If someone is being toxic, it dosen't matter who it is to. It is unacceptable.
Totally agree. However, the inclusiveness push managed to effect the grey area that is effectively impossible to moderate directly. I think that is where it had the most impact.
If someone is being unhelpful and toxic that behavior needs to be corrected - it's just ... it feels like we run risk of misclassifying well intentioned housekeeping with gatekeeping
@JourneymanGeek when you receive a mail that tells you your opt out request has been processed correctly and the next day some staff member somehow implies in a comment that said request could hold no legal value.... yep, people tend to blow things up a little.
Need sleep. Ugh, every day I seem to be needing sleep. Is this happening to anyone else? The horror. So much time wasted being motionless accomplishing nothing.
What is the EU link tax?
Here is an explanation from tom's HARDWARE:
EU Expected To Pass Censorship Machines, Link Tax On June 20
Link Tax (Article 11)
The “link tax” proposal in Article 11 of the copyright reform directive is another idea that’s not just seemingly bad, but i...
Probably not a meteor. A global flood is also out of the picture after the last attempt (also, humans now have boats). Perhaps a good ole Kessler cascade might cause us some well-deserved headaches...
I am considering migrating to Swaziland, though, if EU messes up so hard they break the Internet.
But then again, I'd like to end up where I am now geographically when God decides to nuke Earth's governments, and not have to wait until transportation is available again. Family and such.
@Derpy Idiots in suits think they can legislate technology into existance by fiat
"We will just require you to be 100% sure none of this is copyright infringement before you allow it to be uploaded"
"Well how could we possibly do that, you need a lawyer for single cases sometimes because copyright law is a mess" "Idk figure it out you're liable if you don't lol"
All you need to know about Monsanto is they patented the gene sequence of their seeds so you can't use them or any of their offspring ever unless you pay the patent/licensing fee
