@ShadowWizard ... for now :S
I think 1 year over, I had a chat hiatus last year tough
02:54
Curious, is the "site analytic" privilege interesting enough?
03:08
and I had a weird dream... I saw a small bird, I extended my hand, the bird came to my hand, then it tried to peck my ear :/

@AndrewT. not reeeeeaaally
For some maybe?
user202362
being completely alone has it's own advantage - like there is no one there to witness when you slip and fall in a puddle of mud
but then you lonely realize how miserable your life is... :(
user202362
I am annoyed by others more
03:45
@Catija I just stumbled upon this meta post on Academia: Do we need a post notice for possibly controversial questions?. Perhaps it can be useful for IPS too?
@AndrewT. IPS and TWP were the two sites that it was made for initially.
oops, I should have read the underlying meta post >_<
Thanks for thinking of us!
@AndrewT. often a good idea
03:48
:D It's nice when the CMs can act on requests like that without having to apply to a greater power.
@Catija eh, as should be in many cases ;p
In theory at least, they're the closest employees to the sites anyway
If they don't have dev access, there's not much they can do.
04:02
@Catija or they'd know someone who did, presumably
@JourneymanGeek I don't think knowing them is the problem, so much as knowing someone who actually has the time to do it. I'm guessing that all of the devs are pretty swamped.
@Catija yeaah
and I'm under the impression the CM team is too
:( Yeah.
04:23
I wonder if we should create an iOS 11 tag for the iOS-app questions that seem to be focusing on the app's inability to work properly with that release of the OS.

2 hours later…
06:08
@Catija that feels odd
iOS 11 dosen't really mean in the context of meta to me
07:04
I don't know why I feel that recent TV shows on Discovery or NatGeo don't look so appealing compared to... 10 years ago? Nowadays, I prefer some YouTube channels :/

1 hour later…
08:13
@Catija you mean on Meta? Let's not do that ... just to prevent but I saw this tag off-topic questions.
08:31
Is it really that hard to delete stuff from Area51?meta.stackexchange.com/questions/302879/… ... maybe @ShadowWizard knows ....
or call Robert to close and delete it?
user202362
feral rabbit was found in the garage again ... hopefully we will not end up with a nest of baby rabbits one day - garage has been popular with wildlife, had a possum's nest & a nest of mice
you don't domesticate them?
user202362
and end up clean after them? no ... there are always food for them, but they have the freedom to come & go as they please
09:21
What is it that people are so desperate to know how to pronounce my name? Be happy I didn't choose Gregor Frenkel Frank as my displayname. Good luck pronouncing that ...

Start from Tim Post' starred message if you're interested
Andrew is Andrew again
12:48
Yeah, that happened too
Hello. My name is MAR. Where is this place?
Earth, not M.A.R.s
@AndrewT. This is considerably worse because my grandpa just passed away two days ago
@M.A.R. Bit of a shock for most of us regulars TBH
12:50
@JourneymanGeek So you think I'm a Martian? Stereotypes . . . That's Matt Damon
13:05
@M.A.R. my condolence too...

@rene @Bart @ShadowWizard ^ delvote plz
14:41
@Shog9 could you tell me: will I receive a suspension again for accepting back answers which I unaccepted early? :) Really want to return @rene his 30 rep.
@alexolut only if you're going to do that in a short period. So just take your time, I'll be around for another 6 to 8 weeks to enjoy those 30 points somewhere ...
@rene 20 answers in the morning, 50 at the dinner, and 30 before midnight. Is it okay?
Pretty sure Rene means over several days.
that ^
14:57
Rene is asking for accept votes to be spread out over several days so nobody notices? /me flags
As always @Bart works on his flag weight ...
15:41
@alexolut The real question is why did you do it in the first place? What changed about the answers that made them all unacceptable now, when they were acceptable initially? And why would you go back and accept them all or even a portion again?
@bluefeet I don't want to interfere with your moderation but the first why is stated in the first paragraph here
Just a FYI ... please continue ...
16:10
@JourneymanGeek how come author has no -100.rep? Post was deleted as spam/offensive.
@rene great, you scared her off...
Yeah, this is how scarecrows must feel ...
16:22
@Catija why it is important for you? Why I can't accept at one day?
16:33
@bluefeet I want to return the all rep which users lose after my unacception. Because it was just for test purpose (see Rene's answer above).
If you guys all worry about rep gained by accepting, why (un)accepting is allowed only for OP? Allow it for mods (like it works for MSDN forums) and all will be happy.
I'm pretty sure even if you set a daily limit for accepting/unaccepting you will still be asking "why you unaccepted my answer? Return me my rep!" And so on. Probably suspending again user who make unaccept without explanation.
There's something called the don't be annoying rule... aka don't remove 1500 rep just because you want to "test" something.
I'm not obligated to explain votes, so why I need to explain unaccepting?
@alexolut I don't care either way but clearly the CMs saw your unaccepts as ... unacceptable ... so, as others have noted, at the very least you should ask the Team or otherwise let them know your plans so they understand that you're not being destructive. It's the sort of thing people who rage quit do.
It's considered a form of vandalism.
@alexolut unaccepting 1 answer might be understandable, but mass unaccepting looks like someone is rage-quitting without knowing what's the reason behind it. I don't think reputation is the bigger issue here, people just noticed "something is wrong" when you started mass unaccepting.
@Catija Is accepted by OP answer more useful for community? Even if OP can accept the WRONG answer? Where is vandalism here?
16:46
I don't really understand - if you're doing it for science, why are you so defensive about explaining why? The Team is doing their jobs. A simple explanation would likely have had your suspension reverted.
@Catija I made explanations for what I already did and for what I'm planning to do. But "Team" (as you said) didn't give me an answer (yet).
@AndrewT. and now I want to know: can I accept them back without suspension again, and why I need to do it by several days (as supposed by @rene and @Catija) instead of single day?
@alexolut In your question you show that your response to them was defensive without any explanation. You should have used your Mod Message responses to explain rather than confronting them about the rules. bluefeet may yet respond but as you can see from the message here, not all of the CMs have seen your question.
I really think you can do that in a single day, as long as it's done sparingly. Again, people are sensitive when they see something that looks suspicious. You mentioned "20 in the morning", reaccepting 20 answers in a quick succesion (i.e. in 1 minute) looks suspicious (people will think "I'll just accept any answer without reading!"). Instead, you can even reaccept 100 answers while waiting for e.g. 5 or 10 minutes for each reacceptance.
@Catija CM should be much more clever than regular user like me. He shouldn't silently suspend my account and ignore my stupid questions. CM should bring his point of view to the user, who "voilates the rule" and make explanations why.
17:03
@alexolut you can only know by trying ;) .... My main concern and message is: Don't do a lot of actions (any action for that matter) in a very short (just above what the server throttle allows you) timespan. That might get noticed and does set off alarm bells, either direct or indirect. Both you and I seem to be concerned to not have you suspended again, hence my suggestion to spread out what ever you want to fix. Just my 0,02$ (or a currency of choice)
@AndrewT. the only time between of posting answer and accepting is important. No matter how quick I do accept, I could read the answer early in the past.
I.. don't know what to say again. I may agree with you on that case, but it's very rare any users do that.
@alexolut Admittedly, yes. The mod message could have been better. I'm guessing that it was a message of haste rather than deliberation.
Sorry guys. Need to go. Will see later.
17:11
Bounties and accepts (on the answerer's side) don't count towards the cap.
Hmm... bounties certainly don't count, but +15 from acceptance also don't? I thought the immunity means that rep from acceptance can bypass daily rep cap, but getting 200 rep in a day (including from acceprance) is already counted as 'mortarboard'..... right? Or I have a really misunderstanding since the beginning...
Nope. I've gotten 230 before on IPS if you look at my history.
If you hit exactly 200 and part of that is an accept, I don't think it counts as rep capping.
17:26
Rep from bounties and accepts does not count towards the repcap.
Yeah, I just checked the FAQ. Does it mean that +2 from accepting answer also doesn't count?
Yes
@alexolut ^
Now, when am I getting my accept rep back, @alexolut?
@Oded Apparently he's willing to do it all at once, just doesn't want to get suspended again.
17:41
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@alexolut post some sort of explanation on meta in case folks get confused, update it as you start / finish

Q: Finding three elements in an array whose sum is closest to a given number

ZelluXGiven an array of integers, A1, A2, ..., An, including negatives and positives, and another integer S. Now we need to find three different integers in the array, whose sum is closest to the given integer S. If there exists more than one solution, any of them is ok. You can assume all the integer...

The answers on some questions are just a giant mess. The top voted answers don't even answer the question as asked, there are a few upvoted comments-posted-as-answers as well as a bunch of upvoted answers that won't work at all.
... and duplicate answers posted years after the originals

^ is that known spam, or do we just edit out the link?
The profile photo gives it away, but still
Yeah, spam ... if there was any doubt, the answer removes it
@SmokeDetector spam. Connecting through USB doesn't need SuperSU/root (it's unrelated at all)
anyway, the real SuperSU Pro is a paid app, not a free app
19:50
@Shog9 not sure that I understood you clearly: You suggest me to write a post on MSE where I need to specify time interval when I'm planning to accept back a lot of answers, right? Before doing such accepting.
