I offered this bounty and it's about to expire. There are two answers there that are completely unhelpful but one of them has the minimum criteria required to be auto asssigned the bounty. I don't want that to happen. Can I do anything about that?

Shouldn't there be a way to prevent automatic awarding of a bounty? For example, if someone provides an answer that sounds good but is totally wrong, it may happen that it gets a score of +2, but doesn't deserve the bounty. If no one else answers, half the bounty will automatically go to this per...

I have a great idea for a plugin for visual studio - whenever you get an error in visual studio, the little software goes on searching and returns with 'there are XXX people having the same problem, read what they say on stackoverflow'

@6'whitemale Employees that were elected moderators have the option of retaining their diamond on their site as they depart (once a mod, always a mod, unless there's good reason to not reinstate a mod, but that's independent of former employee status). Pro-tem mods automatically lose their diamonds once an election happens unless they run in the election and win. So, we don't treat it any differently.

@ShadowWizard I can't say that I have. I believe at the time, there was an issue with the stock Android refresh control where it would trigger on horizontal swipes (so Kasra copied the source and added thresholds) and I assumed that would fix it. Maybe refresh is still triggering too often or maybe the state isn't saving properly or at all.

@canon No. It's being implemented specifically as a spin-off of SO, not of SE generally. The initial drive will be to have it be part of the SO ecosystem, much like Jobs.

(based on what I've read... I don't have any insider information).

I mean... just read the first quoted paragraph and it should be pretty clear.

I sort of think it's interesting that it's being baked in to the SO site design... I know this is a problem that needed solving but why? It seems like something that unnecessarily limits the types of groups who could use Channels.

@Catija lotta work to build it into any design. Think: "top bar rollout". If/when it's made available elsewhere, it'll probably mean redesigning site nav in a pretty major way.

@Shog9 Really? Seems like you could have a default site design - the beta/default design but in a different color (or let the group pick the color they want from a palette) and with the logo of the group/company/whatever and add it to the site picker for people who have access to it?

I'm guessing that the mock-up in bluefeet's question on MSO isn't anything like what it's going to look like? I can imagine that would be much more risky of a view than what I'm talking about... it's literally the SO page... looks identical in every way.

Heck, it seems like sufficiently large small groups might even pay for a custom site design ... or you could give them the option (if they have an in-house team) to create custom graphics for themselves using templates provided by SE.

I have browsers open to my internal and external networks... I use different themes for them to keep them visually separated... I mean... it's pretty obvious which is which anyway but I still do it just in case.

@bluefeet I'm really not trying to minimize what you all are doing... I'm trying to understand the same thing that ChrisF is. I'm guessing that at least part of the confusion for me is that the preview you have isn't actually representative of what you're going for in the long run.

I hope it is because I'm actually really scared by those tabs that otherwise keep the appearance of SO for the site.
