@Derpy is this what you drink every morning?

@SmokeDetector f

@ShadowWizard Actually, I don't even drink coffee in the first place.
I prefer tea

@Derpy o/ Tea

@Derpy green tea?

8:50 AM
@ShadowWizard ^ that said, most of the time it is just green tea bags

@Derpy hot, I assume? I love cold tea, we got many variations here. :)

I like peppermind and green tea
In fact, since I've gone cold turkey on pepsi light, I've been drinking inordinate amounts of peppermind tea

user202362
s/peppermind/peppermint/g

Too late to edit
grr

@ShadowWizard mostly

8:58 AM
@Derpy Have you ever had pepsi light?
I used to drink it like water and stopping to drink it feels like what people describe withdrawal symptoms like

IMO all those light/zero are worse than the original. No sugar, right, but tons of harmful chemicals instead.
Sugar is natural.

Its even more insidious then that
The sugar replacement stuff tricks your body into believing it just got sugar, leading to an insulin spike without sugar to accomodate it

But anyway, I don't like mint, never did.... with one exception of mint chocolate. ;)

Means you get a fast, hard sugar crash when drinking that. You become super hungry, and super fatigued.

@Magisch really??? Never heard about that, hard to believe....

9:00 AM
And it'll get you diabetes faster then normal soda will
I noticed just how infinitely less tired I was after cutting that stuff
and less hungry

@Magisch maybe it's not affecting everyone like that, keep in mind you got "special" body, with reactions to some kinds of food, no?

indeed
but I talked to a friend of mine who is in med school
And he said for dietary purposes and general well being it would be less harmful for me if I drank the same amount in sugary soda

I had my share of diet/light drinks, don't remember any bad effect, I just realized the original tastes better and I don't care for the sugar. :)

In any case, not drinking that stuff has generally made me feel better, be less hungry and less tired overall.

That said, I cut my sugar consumption in coffee: used to have 2 teaspoons of sugar in every cup, now it's only 0.5 - lots of calories saved! ;)

9:05 AM
And after a few days of what felt like withdrawals drinking water instead is just fine
and tea
copious amounts of tea

How long ago all that happened?

3 some weeks

oh, recently...

Indeed

@Bart yeah, saw that as well. Dunno why though. Maybe @balpha can tell?

Were you testing my addiction to sugar because Shadow got you into thinking I am Ryuzaki?

Nope

no idea then
maybe google re-asks you once every so-long?

Perhaps, but I seem to understand that @ShadowWizard had the same thing appear? Anyway, not a huge deal, just surprising.

@Bart why trolling?

Barely any nomination text. Weird answers to the questions asked, circumventing them completely in some cases. Given that he has done this whole thing 3 times now (I think), I'd expect something different.

user202362
maybe he thinks that election is like lottery, the more entries you make, higher chance you get to win

Hah, perhaps. I'm just surprised.

@Bart I see it as "I don't really care if I'll be elected or not, just want to try" - he's serious about it, but unlike all others, don't really care. He'll make fine moderator as far as I can see, it's just that he's not really... keen about it.

1:37 PM
Okay, fair enough

I did a grammar and spelling pass on my answers to the questions, and changed some formulations

1:53 PM
@Telkitty Wait, wasn't "lottery" defined as "game where the chances of winning don't change if you decide to take part in the game or not"?

user202362
?

@Derpy probably means that the chances of winning in lottery are zero, so it doesn't really matter if you actually take part or not, you'll never win. ;)

@AaronHall It has one advantage for a moderator candidate. You've already posted everything in the full knowledge that it can come back to you professionally.

Q: Make moderator messages anonymous

Sometimes a user needs to be gently reminded to be nicer in comments, or to disclose when they're advert...

@bluefeet Ah yes, that one! And maybe one linked by it, also.
In retrospect, we should have added that to the questionnaire... "Are you prepared to deal with off-site harassment and doxxing?"
Maybe phrased a bit different, as "harassment" may imply physical violence... which AFAIK hasn't happened yet. But we should not understate the off-site problems a moderator may get.

user315433
"Are you prepared to..." questions aren't that useful if nobody is answering "Nope, totally not ready for that."

6:39 PM
@zaq Fair point. Might want to phrase it differently.
The underlying question is "are you aware that you can get a lot of off-site nastiness from vengeful users".
But that would be a bit of a yes/no question.

user315433
A: "Now I am, having read the question."

@ShadowWizard Indecision is not a good look for a mod candidate.

@JonEricson So... the system allows it, but it's discouraged?

Scientific wild-ass guess (SWAG) is American slang meaning a rough estimate made by an expert in the field, based on experience and intuition. It is similar to the slang word guesstimate, a portmanteau of guess and estimate. == History == The slang term "SWAG" is generally thought to have originated in the US military, either the Army or the Air Force. Journalist Melvin J. Lasky wrote that it was first used casually by US Army General William Westmoreland during the Vietnam War. Westmoreland would sometimes reply "SWAG" to reporters' questions about American failure to neutralize the enem...
