I'm never going to get a straight answer from you, am I Shog?

easy, but fatty

Actually I don't want to do anything too serious until Nick merges the login fixes, but
He's all busy doing "real work" and "keeping things running", pssh
Who does that?!
In related news, someone please save me from this teleconference. If you know Japanese, that's a plus.

jmac?

@TimStone lol, there should be a red button with a phone logo on it somewhere
I don't have my katakana keyboard on my work machine, but it should probably be obvious enough

@hichris123 I'll let him know you offered him as a sacrifice

anyway, has a PSA been released in the last few weeks with a positive score?

@TimStone Not a sacrifice. He's supposed to keep you on track & make sure you aren't lazy. ;)

...but why would an employer test something like this?
An old, obscure answer of mine, a desperate attempt to save a person's job...

To the OP: This looks like an attempt to create an excuse to eliminate employees from your company by making it appear that it is your fault if you get "fired", rather than accepting the negative publicity that could result from layoffs. While I am not a lawyer, you may want to file a "wrongful termination" lawsuit against your employer if you do end up getting fired. Good luck. — bwDraco Oct 11 '12 at 4:26

user202362
I know how gathering downvoting followers works – yes, you need talent, and it’s hard work, maybe months if not years of dedication. But you see, I have done it before, on a few other sites. There is no secret – you just have to be the most delicious overripe banana in a swamp of fruit flies.

user202362
Just like a good bird feeder to wild birds, the longer you leave it outside, the more likely you will get increasing number of birds visiting. And if it’s a good bird feeder, birds will remember it and they will periodically coming back for more – it’s almost like the birds are stalking the static bird feeder!

I think the important different, though, is that he's gathered them by not trolling.

@ProgramFOX SO SCREEN SCRAPE
Breaking news: Tavern loses most active user Smoke Detector due to random CM cleaner banning random spamming IP

@UniquekekitteanateUnidoggy That sucks even more. 1) Site rate limiting. 2) HTML changes. The HTML changes more than the API response. I don't want to be following up all the changes.

Sites haz rate limiting?

@UniquekekitteanateUnidoggy Of course they do. Try refreshing extremely fast for a while on Stack Overflow, and you'll be temporarily blocked from requests.

Don't wanna try

(or, better don't try it. Choose whether you believe me or not)

@ProgramFOX I take your word for it

Q: Does this website plan on exposing what user information their software has stored?

JasonCI have not been using this website very long, but one thing became apparent very early, the use of cookies and various filters that harvest user information. What raised my suspicions was the barrage of down votes within seconds of posting certain questions. Most of the time there was not enough...

Heh, how did I miss this?

python's from z import n makes it feel so C like
@JasonC your sock?

user307833
@UniquekekitteanateUnidoggy How does that feel C-like?

@Mego No dots in C

user307833
C-like would be from z import*

3:35 PM
@Mego Ok, something like from time import sleep
THen you do sleep(10)

user307833
You don't get to choose what you get from a #include, it's all or nothing

Or you do import time, then time.sleep(10)
No dots feels so C-like

user307833
Though that should be a feature, partial includes :P

Sam
@ProgramFOX Works fine for Pham. :p

Now I'm trying to come up with a system for partial #includes that is plug-and-play compatible with standard library headers (i.e. no header modification needed)

user307833
I've been nerd sniped

[ SmokeDetector ] Few unique characters in answer, repeating characters in answer: Making calculator in Pascal with procedures by user5795441 on stackoverflow.com
[ SmokeDetector ] Manually reported answer: Deleted all mail and folders as well as trash by radhe on webapps.stackexchange.com

@Sam That's interesting. How did you manage to do that reliably?

Sam
@ProgramFOX Magic.

And does it use lots of network traffic? After all we monitor all SE sites and not just SO, which would multiply the traffic.

Sam
But seriously, nothing really.
No special internal throttling.

Nice, especially considering the amount of posts on SO.

@ProgramFOX I can't remember the exact stats, lemme check.

I like how questions under the tab 'featured' are actually not [featured].
...or how you actually make that a button.

Sam
@ProgramFOX Averaging ~70KiB/s.

If I'm not mistaken, that's 5.76782227 GiB/day. For just one site. That would be too much if we'd use it for all sites for Smokey.

I can do that in 10s.

Sam
3:59 PM
@ProgramFOX That was for all sites.
