Actually, 180, we gotta bring that back.
Does anyone have a list of people who have been banned for more than 2 years and the ban is still currently operative?
I'm sure somebody does and equally sure it's a secret.
> When I hang out in chat, it's striking how many people use our sites well before they enter the workforce. -- Jon Ericson
Is it a secret on 'how many' (other than those who caused some sort of DDos attack)?
@JasonC is in 11th... again.
12:07 AM
It's hard coded. I'm surprised I'm not #19 this time, though.
My current dilemma is who to root for #10... Andy or Jason?
Both. We need to wrangle 1500 downvotes for Undo.
I tends to forget this chat gets ... 'dedicated' during election runs ...
No more dedicated than say the Lounge...
We have literally nothing to talk about, it doesn't take much, lol.
12:11 AM
At least @JasonC is still alive.
His last chat message before this was... September?
I just haven't had much to say lately.

The question about "Meta posts you're proud of" is good. Otherwise...
@hichris123 I don't know, I am getting less and less enchanted by the lounge. I don't think I will quit it, but then again there is not much point spending time there either - I think it's mainly because a lot of the regulars whom I used to chat to have become inactive. Lounge has subtly changed.
I'd imagine that's exactly the type of answer that the person who asked the question would like to avoid...
(otherwise there'd be no point in asking it)
12:32 AM
Hmm… it looks like we might need to choose between Andy and Jason C.
Oh, primaries...
Hai everyone
I guess the result is more-or-less clear, unless they back down?
Top three are separated from the rest, but voting in final round can be surprisingly different from the primaries.

Better. Shows the top three are outliers.
@hichris123 Might be better to start the rep axis at 1k or something, so the data points won't be all bunched up.
Interesting. So this isn't a "rep-based election." (Yet.)
Imagine the people with moderator power as hawks, little birds that bred out of control as spams, hawks needs to keep spams in check by deleting the excess of them ... (you need to think abstract while reading that >_< )
1:24 AM
There does seem to be a low rep -> low rank correlation though...
@Doorknob greater than 20K stops contributing to candidate score
Pretty linear there (exponential considering log axis) disregarding 3 outliers.
@Shog9 yeah, I think that helps
Although the 3 outliers are the top 3. :P
Yeah, you can't really disregard the people who are most likely to matter in the outcome :P
1:27 AM
can't really toss out too many outliers when there are only 19 datapoints
Alright, now I feel like doing this for prior elections.
But first, more homework.

@Doorknob I meant primaries. I also wonder if primaries are different than elections...

outliers don't have to be tossed away; they can be classified as another group.
E.g., future mods vs also-rans.
@hichris123 ah. We should have stored data over time, to see how stuff changes... :P
Maybe next election.
(anyway, have to go eat)
@Doorknob @JasonC? Did you keep the data from last year?
What data
Primary votes are still there, stackoverflow.com/election/6?tab=primary
1:32 AM
I have lots of data
@NormalHuman Saves me from fetching it again though.
Only problem is you'd have to backdate rep with archive.org.
Would you like a list of the modulus of elasticity of 536 different species of wood? I have that.
Wait, wood has different species?
Eeek. The wood is evolving.
Oh I also have a system temperature graph of a lighting control power supply running full power wrapped in two blankets and stuffed in an air tight box. It's exciting.
I have results from bloodwork from 2 months ago too. So much data, man.
@JasonC ... why were you doing that?
1:35 AM
@hichris123 Wood is tree.
Building evidence that their thermal protection system doesn't work.
@bjb568 Except it's dead.
See J.Musser.
@JasonC So how does the graph look at the point where it catches fire? :)
@JasonC .... wait wait wait... you put a power supply... in a blanket... when you thought that the thermal protection system wasn't working? Couldn't that have started a fire?
Bah, Ilmari beat me to it.
1:37 AM
Well it has remote monitoring. 68C isnt starting any fires. But if it did thatd be great. More evidence.
Plus itd be fun to throw the melted remains of a $2800 power supply in the dumpster.

I see that doing (X and Y) is prohibited, but perhaps doing just one of them is okay.
When a mod gets a chance, could someone tell me how many deleted questions I have?
Only mods can tell.
Oh 10k can't see?
10k users see deleted questions when they navigate to them, but not on a user's profile page.
@NormalHuman You mean like "don't drink and drive"? :)
1:56 AM
Yes, like that. One thing at a time.
A funny thing I realized recently is that if you delete your own post, it shows up in your profile as a delete vote. And it stays there even if you undelete it again. And, presumably, even if the post later gets deleted again.
So if you just made it a habit to always delete and undelete your posts after submitting them, you'd have a permanent list of every post you ever made on SE, even if they later got deleted.
Not that I'm serious suggesting doing this, but... :)
