@AndrewT. That's some good digging.

This kind of response is what scares newcomers away. Moderators should not be doing this.

Keyword stuffing.
Keyword stuffing is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique, in which a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or in content of a web page. Keyword stuffing may lead to a website being banned or penalized in search ranking on major search engines either temporarily or permanently. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags. Keyword stuffing had been used in the past to obtain top search engine rankings and visibility for particular phrases. This method is outdated and adds no value to rankings today. In particular, Google no...

This one's on the edge, but it looks a hell of a lot like spam and I've flagged it as such. The user's been posting only in disk-related questions, the most recent post is very poor in quality, and this answer has spam indicators. The grammar isn't exactly the best, and most tellingly, the answer mentions a trickier procedure followed by a software recommendation that is being promoted as "convenient and easy". 3:41 PM
I wonder who that could be..
Stares at @Ster
I don't recall exactly what, but something in the last election made me not want you to be a moderator. Reading your answers to this years questions, I am happy to say I no longer feel that way. I really like how you've laid out your answers and thoughts here, and feel that you would, indeed, make a good moderator. Good luck, bjb! — Kendra 22 mins ago
I swear, it must be entirely caused by my use of smiley.
@bjb568 being a moderator isn't just about digging into the queue. It's a part of it yeah, but other parts are community engagement and helping others Q&A.
So my site engagement offset my queue ratio.
That's why I'm beating you... though why you felt the need to say that about me all passivey is beyond me, we're more or less dead last anyways :P
@SterlingArcher I disagree, there's nothing more irrelevant than how you post answers to moderator performance.
Community engagement isn't just asking and posting questions. It's helping others construct good answers, guiding peoples questions, and my chat presence is also a factor.
3:49 PM
Antideletionism may be appealing but it isn't viable in the end. Moderators aren't mentors, they're janitors.
All of those are good moderation traits.
Why can't moderators be mentors?
And I didn't even mention deletionism, not sure why that's being rbought up?

Yeah, this would be votes in a period of time, not total votes. It'd look something like this (The "who was being Googled over the debate’s two-plus hours") section
@Andy I still don't understand what you want there - the same thing, including downvotes?
Downvotes are minuscule and wouldn't make it look any different
No, how many votes/minute. Not total votes. So, you'd see peaks and dips as waves of users arrive to vote.
Though, instead of per minute, I'm suggesting per 30 minutes, to smooth it out a bit
@Andy Oh, overall. Gotcha

@SterlingArcher but that isn't related to being a moderator
Sure it is. Why else would there be a question on "willing to watch the chats" on the meta questionairre? A good moderator has a good feel for the community outside of the queue. The queue is important, but I see moderating as a broader scope.
@SterlingArcher I think the debate is about a harsh janitorial focus necessary in a moderator versus a jubilant caring encouraging mentor that you may want to portray yourself as but that doesn't have qualities that intersect with moderatorship
Actually, I see that as: would you monitor in chat, since lately there have been several conflicts
That's chat moderation, not being friendly and helpful.
@bjb568 why not both? It's super easy to do queue work. It's not easy to have a community engaging focus as well.
5:16 PM
@Bart New Policy change: Future elections will consist of only 1 vote across all of SO. Fastest gun in the west at it's finest
You're too focused on the queue. Everybody knows it's important. That's where who you are outside comes into play.
@SterlingArcher I'm not saying you can't engage in the community. I'm saying it's unrelated to your performance as a mod.
I disagree
@SterlingArcher If it's so easy why have you done so little when it's what this site needs?
@Andy how about you just let me pick the 3 mods. Done.
5:17 PM
We'll consider that plan B, @Bart
@SterlingArcher Then how is it? Mod privileges are about going beyond the rep-based privs and taking up janitorial work.
@Andy plan Bart ... I like it
@bjb568 that's a baited question. I have thousands of review activities outside the queue. I wouldn't chalk that up as doing so little for the site
@bjb568 I keep saying over and over you're not wrong. I just feel a good moderator goes beyond seeing it as janitorial work
But it is.
If you want to guide users you don't need to be a mod.

You've mentioned my flags a couple times now. Why keep bringing it up if it's going to yield the same answer?
@SterlingArcher Wholly unimpressive combined with low review. This is what moderating is about. You're not doing it. No amount of "community engagement" can make up for it — if you aren't using your existing mod powers, why do you need more?
@bjb568 Take it to the election room, please.
I'm done.
@bjb568 the point of all this, is maybe next time think before you say something like you did about my flags like you did. I did not enjoy seeing that, knowing it was aimed at me.
I'm done as well. :)
5:29 PM
@SterlingArcher I think having competent moderators is much more important than petty self-esteem. As a mod you'd have to handle the situation of users questioning your behavior much better than this.
