@Braiam Well, that answers my next question.
user259867
@Braiam You should be happy with [status-planned]... most proposals don't get that far.
22:17
@Braiam Right now, it actually says this:
> I don't really have much to say here.
@pizza Does SE need more devs or something?
It's probably much more complicated than I realize, but it doesn't seem that difficult to me.
@hichris123 Yes.
All they have to do is include the shortcuts.js file, right?
user259867
Now that the box is larger, the character limit should be increased... I'm at the limit now, and can't add to the bio...

[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: HEELP ME OUT!!! by Dan on scifi.stackexchange.com
So why not just keep that as part of the profile configuration on each site?
@SmokeDetector tagged:
@JonEricson Well, of course. :P Somehow I don't think that job is for me though -- who knows if it's even legal (since I'm a minor).
@hichris123 Depends on the state.
Probably not full-time, though.
Someone just went through and downvoted every candidate.
@AstroCB Probably not, but since SE is based in NY, do you have to follow NY laws? shrug IANAL.
22:22
@hichris123 Not unless you move to NY, I think (IANAL indeed).
I'm 18 now! Can I have a job with SE? :P
Still irritates me that I can work part-time, for pay, on really really important systems, but it's illegal for me to go mow someone else's yard for pay. Grr.
@AstroCB FIGHT THE POWER!!!
user259867
@Undo So it depends on the stated where the business is located?
@JonEricson I could use a little extra cash, I'm not saying that someone should pay me to prettify the election page, but I'll let @hichris123 say it.
22:23
Am I missing something? Why did the other guy reject this as spam?
@AstroCB Saying "learn more about this on Wikipedia" is useless.
@TimStone Nah nah nah SEDE!
@AlexisKing It's not spam, though.
@AstroCB It's not, but whatever.
@hichris123 ALL the things!
22:24
@AlexisKing Go apply.
@hichris123 I don't know any real-world .NET. ;)
@pizza I'm not positive on that...
@AlexisKing You can learn. :)
@hichris123 I can't imagine C# would be that hard to figure out considering I know Java inside-out, and C# is basically just a better Java.
That said, I think they'd probably like me to learn that before hiring me. ;p
@AlexisKing Likely, but it's not a requirement.
Also, I'd like to work onsite, and I live in Los Angeles. :(
SE, set up an office over here, please! :D
22:26
> Experience in a major server-side web development stack (e.g. RoR, ASP.NET, nodejs, etc). Experience in our stack (C# / ASP.NET MVC / SQL Server) is a plus, but not a requirement.
@AstroCB I wonder, is that tag really useful?
Hmm. Who should I uselessly bug about setting up an office in LA?
!!/blame
@AlexisKing It's AstroCB's fault.
the fact that both questions are tagged [r] doesn't makes me so confortable
22:28
@Braiam There are only two questions, so...
Let's try the wheel of blame instead.
!blame @AlexisKing
Well, that broke.
!blame @AlexisKing
It's @AlexisKing's fault.
@AlexisKing My cover letter went on and on about how I'd hate to live in NY and how much happier I am to work from LA. I'm pretty sure I got hired by accident. (Seriously, though: I don't plan to commute again in my life. Working remote is awesome.)
22:29
@JonEricson I don't trust my ability to manage myself enough to work remotely. :P
@AlexisKing That was my fear too. It turns out when you are busy doing something you love doing, that's not so much of a problem. At least it hasn't been for me so far.

It would be nice to be able to get a competitive salary and still be able to live somewhere you really like, even if it's in the middle of nowhere.
Anonymous
In the woods, say.
@JeremyBanks Jobs like that exist.
Anonymous
22:36
Yes: Stack Exchange seems like it's probably one of them.
Anonymous
"But there aren't that many good options" he says, despite not really having significant information on which to base the statement.
I understand that link-only answers are bad, but I've become less averse to them over the past couple of months, so when I saw one making a pitch at an answer and giving a link to the Oracle docs (which I hope aren't going anywhere anytime soon), I clicked "No Action Needed," and, well...
@JonEricson SE is definitely a place I'd love to work at some point, even if perhaps that time isn't right now. :)
@JeremyBanks Depends. I put 1800 miles on my car commuting over the past 8 months.
Anonymous
@tchrist True, that totally slipped my mind.
22:39
!xkcd status
Of course, it takes a different skill set than SE.
Anonymous
I hate cars (don't drive), and also hate commuting by transit, so I've significantly limited my options.
That sounds like a great excuse to stay home all day. I'm gonna try it.
user259867
@AstroCB I think the problem there is not the link. It's just saying "try using If Then Else". I can leave that answer under so many questions...
22:40
@JeremyBanks I really like commuting by train, don't have to waste mental energy on driving, and I don't have to live in the middle of London
@pizza That's true, but the audit system isn't smart enough to know that.
The answer's only at -1.
user259867
The answer is deleted.
user259867
All answers shown as known bad audits are deleted.
Anonymous
@Ixrec Yeah, that's reasonable.

My current commute is a 14-minute bike ride, and I've spoiled myself for life.
22:42
Nginx, FastCGI, Plack, DBIC, mysql, 100% Perl all running on a zillion Linux boxes. More than a million lines of code, &c&c&c.
No Microsoft at all. ;))
My C skills are languishing. Oh well. ;)
@pizza I know, but isn't that because the question was deleted (or was it deleted separately)?
The TZ thing can be disorienting, but this is only 3 of them not 12 like last team.
It's my fault, really. The one time I let a link-only answer slide and of course it's an audit.
user259867
@AstroCB I think the answer should have been deleted separately in order to qualify as known bad audit. Just having -1 wouldn't do it.
Just thought I'd complain.
In other news, I'm review-banned now despite not having failed an audit in months.
Great for my mod campaign.
22:45
@AstroCB Links to all the audits you've failed?
in the last week or so?
@Undo Is there a place I can find those?
Not sure
Some people hate remote.
@AstroCB Have you tried bribes or burnt offerings?
@tchrist specially when it gets lost in the couch
@tchrist I was thinking of leaving a bounty for a current mod's answer.
But I'd probably inadvertently choose the one who's leaving after this election.
22:48
lol
@AstroCB Can mere mods lift review bans? If not you may have to send Shog some single-malt.
But seriously, why banned?
he failed a single audit
or two...
@AstroCB We should probably add some indication of failed reviews to the activity tab.
Hey I read "he failed a single malt".
Well, at least he failed a malt and not a milkshake.
22:57
@AstroCB I unbanned you. Now go and sin no more. (Or at least be careful. ;-)

user259867
You three reddish gravatar people sitting together...
@JonEricson Thanks – I thought I'd risen above being review banned, but apparently not.
user259867
It's more of a spectrum, transition from mostly red to mostly blue.
@pizza PINK!
Purple?
somewhere in there.
@JonEricson That would be really useful (I probably fail them more often than I think I do because I'm so proud of how long I've gone without failing them that it seems like longer than it actually is).
22:59
I usually just skip audits. They're usually really blatant.
user259867
@AstroCB Meanwhile, there is a workaround: complain in chat. The transcript is searchable.
user259867
@hichris123 Except controversial NAAs on SO?
I do feel bad, though, because that's actually a justified audit, and I used to get banned all of the time, but it would always be because of terrible audits.
@hichris123 But then you get audited more.
@AstroCB Then you skip more. :D
@pizza That works.
23:00
@AstroCB It's a bit silly that we don't make it easier to learn from mistakes. I wonder if there's a feature request for that...
@pizza Erm, hrm... I don't usually see those audits, really.
@JonEricson There is.
user259867
HIQ doesn't have audits, does it?
@AstroCB seeing you complain about review audits makes me feel a lot better about how many I've failed and strongly disagreed with
27
Q: How many review audits did I fail?

user221081I have been looking around for a while now, but I can't see anywhere how many audits I have failed. Is this purposely not being exposed to users? Where can I see some history of the audits I have failed? Is there a raw number per category?

24
Q: I would like to see my review audit history

Dave AlperovichConfession: I have been suspended a couple times from reviewing activities. Partial Redemption: I have become better and better at passing audits. I'd like to see my recent and distant history with audits. Even better, I'd like to see my history with the various types of audits. I'm not su...

@Ixrec It's an automated system that isn't very granular, so there are bound to be fps; I'm just surprised at how often I've gotten them. If you want a second opinion, you can ask Meta – I used to do that, but I stopped because the answers are usually the same and it just sounds like I'm complaining.
23:02
Nah, I'd get insta-dupe-hammered
meta's full of people complaining about audits
And, of course, first review of the day is an audit. Very blatant. stackoverflow.com/review/low-quality-posts/7703131
> Thank you for reviewing 20 low quality posts today; come back in 56 minutes to continue reviewing.
You're just getting started? :P
Hi y'all
Hiya @EdCottrell :)
@Ixrec Not if you ask it correctly and explain why you think it's bad.
@hichris123 You forgot to like his page for helping you pass an audit.
