You know you've reviewed too many Pham reports when 8 seconds is all it needs to judge whether a post is spam.
Merh.
So StackBot is enjoying their lunch?

@bjb568 is here. Tag-team. I'm off to make some food

What tag-team?

suspects Bart is StackBot
@bjb568 We've been gamifying our process of flagging a spam wave as war.

@Unihedro 8 seconds? Holy FSM, that's a long time. I can tell if it's obvious spam in 200ms, crap in 150ms, and decide borderline spam in 3s.

@bjb568 O-o

Yay, upgrading RDS from t1.micro -> t2.micro, and Magnetic storage to SSD.

Respiratory distress syndrome?

7:22 PM

wow, seriously?

Yes.
Turns out I don't even have to bother with the lower things since they don't support XHTML. 10 and 11 are trivial to detect with JS and block.
And of course, annoying error and no functionality without JS.
IDK, IDC about ie9.

Yay, things are faster!
# old
/* Affected rows: 0  Found rows: 90,964  Warnings: 0  Duration for 1 query: 0.156 sec. (+ 56.020 sec. network) */
# new
/* Affected rows: 0  Found rows: 90,964  Warnings: 0  Duration for 1 query: 0.125 sec. (+ 12.105 sec. network) */
And I now have 10 GB more of storage.

MySQL isn't that bad.

7:33 PM
Yeah it is.
It pretends to be english but is complicaty.

@bjb568 huh wha?

Like it's a string and has like SELECT and englishy things.
Not like beautiful .find({stuffs})
mongo is nodey.
like js-y.
And good with node.

@bjb568 Yeah, because humans speak English. It seems easier to figure out. Maybe for you JS weirdos Mongo is better. ;P

It is!

But also, Mongo is different. It's NoSQL - which is not a relational database.

7:39 PM
Meh, pretty much the same thing. Instead of joining or whatever you do, you just nest arrays.

not really...
A NoSQL (often interpreted as Not Only SQL) database provides a mechanism for storage and retrieval of data that is modeled in means other than the tabular relations used in relational databases. Motivations for this approach include simplicity of design, horizontal scaling and finer control over availability. The data structures used by NoSQL databases (e.g. key-value, graph, or document) differ from those used in relational databases, making some operations faster in NoSQL and some faster in relational databases. The particular suitability of a given NoSQL database depends on the problem it must...

I think that the conclusion of SQL vs NoSQL is that each one has their fortes

@bjb568 Yeah...I don't think you understand the difference

Well, most mySQL things can be turned into mongo, but turning a lot of mongo things into mySQL makes slowness.
@Andy Not really.

@bummi The answer is NAA if you ask me

@rene the accepted one?

No, sorry this one

I'd say both.

@bummi the accepted one is fine

@rene I know, but the whole thread looks like a mess :(

This one could use some elaboration but the idea is sound

Q: Time estimate to determine if a number is prime

Marco M.How long does it take to verify that a given number is a prime number, as a function of its number of digits, in a personal computer, say? How computationally hard is this?

How is this a hot question?

@rene should I start a question? Where is that?

user259867
Two quick answers with 4 total upvotes... that may be considered "hot" by MO standard on the rate of answering. HNQ list takes into account the general level of activity of various sites, to level the field.

user259867

@rene wow ... congrats

9:00 PM
tnx ;)

@Behaviour oh, that's not all time close votes though, just from review.
Nice work @rene!

user259867
Yes, there is no easy way to obtain a list of close voters. And any such list would exclude deleted posts, so the stats are likely to be seriously wrong.

user259867
add the counts of close delete etc votes to Users table in SEDE.

@Behaviour it's available from each user profile, I think that should be easy

information in formation

user259867
9:04 PM
@Braiam It's available to each user from their own profile, to be precise.

@Behaviour does that expand on this one?

@Sompuperoo Gone but no -100…

he just started 200 bounty on that question

@Sompuperoo That user has more interactions that are... direct?

9:13 PM
@bjb568 When I look at my flag history it shows -4 on that answer, and then offensive "helpful".. did maybe a mod delete it before the -100 could take effect from 2-3 other offensive flags?
@rene idk

@Sompuperoo self deleted

@Sompuperoo what was it?

user259867
@rene That one is about getting more info on UV and DV. I am interested in close-reopen-delete-undelete votes.

@hichris123 nothing to serious , just "How? M****F****" without the stars

9:15 PM
@hichris123 lol, that badge promotes this!

user259867
I think deletion for any reason marks the flags against the post (or comment) as helpful.

@Behaviour Yeah, so your FR could expand on getting all the public available statistics from the userprofile in SEDE

user259867
@rene Actually, the counts of close-reopen-.. votes are not publicly available from userprofile. So it's a different aspect.

Hmm, OK

You'd also need to decide how you wanted to count them
All votes?
Only votes that weren't aged away?
Only votes that weren't retracted?

9:17 PM
all

Let's start with all votes

@Shog9 yes , a nice pivot :) , just kidding

user259867
@Shog9 The publicly visible count of up- and down-votes in the user profile includes all of them, even deleted ones. Same for close and other types.

IIRC, retracted up/down votes don't count

user259867
If it's not too hard, exclude retracted ones. I don't know if the database distinguishes between retracted and "deleted" for other reasons.

user259867
9:27 PM
If it does not, I don't mind retracted votes being counted. They are a drop in the bucket.

user259867
Don't edit; just flag NAA.

I know its NAA, but would it be possible spam?

user259867
It's a clueless person using a signature where it does not belong. Not surprising since they are posting a Q as an A.

@Behaviour agreed, and flagged this way before, thx

Looks like an informed spam post. But Assume good faith , so I just did NAA.

@bjb568 So for you, here's how this would break down:
Close Votes Actioned Aged Invalidated Retracted
----------- -------- ---- ----------- ---------
3256        2252     365  2           5

Reopen Votes Actioned Aged Invalidated Retracted
------------ -------- ---- ----------- ---------
66           36       30   0           0

Delete Votes Actioned Overridden
------------ -------- ----------
27           25       3

Undelete Votes Actioned Overridden
-------------- -------- ----------
3              1        2

@hichris123 strange question with his profile ...

@Shog9 Does actioned equal closed?

@hichris123 for close votes, yes

Oh, gotcha.

user259867
9:59 PM
I don't understand "overridden". Is it when the vote takes effect ("actioned") and then the state of question is reversed?

@Behaviour Right, so for a delete vote if the post is deleted and then undeleted or the post is reopened, that'll override (delete) the delete vote.

@Shog9 And then what is invalidated?

Tracking the results of delete/undelete votes gets a bit tricky; I didn't put a lot into this, but it's possible to extract different / more accurate results with a bit of care.

user259867
OK, I see it's complicated. But the first column is what I'd be happy with, if I could get it from SEDE.

user259867
10:02 PM
Especially for moderator candidates.

@hichris123 pretty much what it sounds like.

So for a close/reopen vote, if the question is deleted then the vote is invalidated.

You can stop posting for me, I'm out of close votes...

10:06 PM
12 left

I'm with Laszlo in regard to the number of close votes I find it harder to keep some outside of the queues

user259867
@Shog9 I should have kept this simple: use whatever logic is used to display the count of CV etc on the profile/votes page.

@Behaviour @bjb can confirm this, but IIRC that would give you the difference between the first and second columns in the example I posted.

@rene I hate losing delete votes in VLQ most (my favorite since a view weeks)

user259867
@Shog9 For deletion and undeletion votes, I see everything in the profile tab (and the count reflects that). E.g., if I deleted/undeleted own post, the delete vote is still shown with annotation "(deleted)" in grey. Same if I voted to delete someone's post, and it was deleted, and then undeleted by other users (i.e., overridden).

10:14 PM
something is strange with this user? stackoverflow.com/q/27464098/1699210 hmtsoft.com in the profile already the closed question minutes ago looked suspect

@Behaviour so what count are you given for close votes on Math?

@bummi I don't handle other queues those to often due to the low traffic but triage requires me to use more close votes

user259867
@Shog9 7522

ok, we must've fixed that then. Or you get the right number after 10K.

@Shog9 It's after 10k.

10:15 PM
I remember someone drastically under-counted their own close votes in an election a while back, so at least at one point it was off by a fair bit.

user259867
So, we still need @bjb568 to confirm because he's under 10K on SO.

user259867
Or we could use @hichris123 instead.

@Behaviour Why do I feel like I'm about to be an experiment?

@bummi left a comment

user259867
10:17 PM
@hichris123 What's the number of close votes you see on profile/votes/closure on SO?

@rene it itches me to flag as spam ....

Well, the OP has one legit question so ....

@rene It's OT anyway, 2 tries more and he will not be able to ask again

Yeah, that will not end well...

user259867
By the way, the current behaviour of the profile /votes tab is inconsistent in that Up and Down include only extant posts, while the other four tabs also include deleted ones (for 10K users only). Hopefully, this mess can be fixed along with the profile redesign.

Does anyone remember if we had a doge hat last year?

@hichris123 yes
we did IIRC

@Undo Ugh. cdn-prom.sstatic.net/WinterBash/img/sprite-128.png is up, but is it new or old?
Me thinks old.

10:34 PM
@hichris123 those are last year's

So if there is a elf hat and a white beard hat this year I get them for free right?

user259867

Yay, no need to be a lab cat since I went to target…
200 rep down?

user259867
Actually, we are still missing this data point from you, @bjb568 -- what does your SO profile show under votes/closure?

user259867
(To compare with the database grab Shog9 did earlier).

10:54 PM
1,588 Votes Cast

user259867
@Shog9 ... and the profile says 1588. Of course this is excluding deleted posts (since bjb is under 10K), so who knows what the count is based on.
