Plot twist: Pham is running for mod in the next election

user259867
Hope so; I'll take Pham over almost any of the current Math mod candidates

@Behaviour I like lifehacks. Already got good answers to my 3 questions.

@Behaviour I betcha you can guess what I want to say next.

user259867
@Sompuperoo How's the voting race going on? Here's something: Ancient 0-score unanswered questions with pending closevotes.

12:11 AM
@Behaviour Yes, we need more robomods
so the Low Quality flag option has been completely removed from questions on all sites?

@Sompuperoo no until /review/triage isn't in place

user259867
I see it on Math. It's not available for the questions that are currently under close/triage review.

that's really weird, it wasn't showing for me on an SO question.. tried several times, and then just tried again and now it's back

user259867
12:29 AM
So it got triaged and now the options are back to normal.

someone let me know when snow counter is close to reaching 256,999 plz

My school calculate GPA weird. jsfiddle.net/ub80j9tf (<- optimistic predictions for this semester)

@bjb568 Wait, a 6? We just are on a 4.0 scale with weights. 0.5 weight if it's honors, 1.0 weight if it's AP.

12:32 AM
Yes, a 6 for AP A. And 1.5 weighting.

user259867
Grade inflation everywhere. >:-( Like on SE.

I didn't even cheat.
And like everybody does.
5.06 GPA for an A in every class?
This can't be right.
CollegePrepcourses: A=4,B=3,C=2,D=1
APcourses: A=6,B=4.5,C=3,D=1.5
AA & Honors courses: A=5.25, B=3.75, C=3.0, D=1.25
^ Well, that's what the pdf said.
Exclusion of F implies they will kick you very hard for it.

user259867
@Sompuperoo close now... 15 seconds

ty :) caught it just in time

user259867
@bjb568 Does anyone know what these numbers mean anymore? Arbitrary manipulations with grades the meaning of which we don't know.

user259867
12:39 AM
I don't know what the college admission committees are supposed to make out of them.

user259867
Just let everybody take SAT or something.

You take a class and at the end of the quarter you get a grade. That's the first quarter grade: A, B, C, D, or F. Then you get your second quarter grade. Then you take an exam. The average of those is your semester grade. Those translate to numbers which are averaged together to form a GPA. The higher a GPA, the more colleges/unis will accept you.

@Behaviour They usually don't pay attention to weighted GPA's anymore.

I've never seen an A on my report card, what's that for?

@Sompuperoo It means "very good", 90%.
Why is shift so close to return?
I tend to do this because of it.

12:41 AM
no one uses the right shift, use the left one

Huh.
But my right left is weak. It's harder to type like this. Ugh.

you must have a poorly designed apple thing?

What's that have to do with anything? The distances are the same.

OMG, it's the Tavern!

12:44 AM
@bjb568 No it doesn't. It means that you've at least partially mastered the material.

Is this the successor to the tavern on chat.meta?

@hichris123 Ugh, it depends on the course. If it's a good teacher and a voluntary AP course, it's ok. If it's a awful mean teacher in the regular class, it's OMG YOU GOT AN A, NOBODY GOT AN A FIRST QUARTER!

@Moshe yep.

Wow. It's been like 3 years.

Same old Tavern -- new look and domain!

12:46 AM
Whoa, yea.

With a kitten!

Where'd all the people go?

Sep 21 at 17:38, by Moshe
Ohai, glad to see the Tavern hasn't closed in my absence. There all these strange people though...
... or not.

Fair enough.
Find be prior to that though. It's been sporadic.
I'm facing final exams now, so it's time to professionally crastinate.

I just noticed…
Oh, all right.

user259867
12:49 AM
I'm facing final exams that are in my drawer right now, and refuse to grade themselves. Luckily there is an election to distract me.

@Behaviour Election?

@Behaviour My --math--, um, discipline needs work.
Is there supported markdown for strikethrough?

My history teacher has warned us about how it'll be hard. Which means harder than 75 average. Nooooo

@Behaviour Who someone cough should totally run in as most others are bad candidates, but...

@Moshe this

@Moshe ---no--- no

@Moshe it's 3 not 2

oh right.
I have an A in AP World History...

@Moshe well, there are people trying to migrate it, to SO

Renaissance, conscription, Chartist Movement, humanism/humanities, Napoleonic Wars/coalitions, home rule, secularism, guillotine, suffrage, vernacular, Reign of Terror, abolitionist movement, printing press, Committee of Public Safety, private/public property, Protestant Reformation, The Directory, Victorian era, 95 Theses, coup d’état, Battle of Waterloo, excommunicate, Continental System, Means (factors) of production, Islam/Muslims, Peninsular War, Siege of Vienna, Sunni/Shi’a Islam, guerrilla warfare, Great Wall of China, Ottoman Empire, scorched earth policy, Columbian Exchange, Janiss

@Braiam CUDA is a graphics technology, but it's not strictly a programming question. More of a "does this setup support this technology" question.

@Behaviour If I was making a LQ bot, that would be smart.

user259867
But for a spambot, why is "how to power up" a bad title?

@Behaviour it's not -- I was just remarking on how bad of a title it was.
Also: I kinda have a special exception for Mathematics, @Behaviour. :P

user259867
What's the exception?

@Behaviour Well, MathJax was causing fp's sooo... (can you guess?) :p

@WarmFuzzies Er... what is this common goal you speak of? Some users flag spam as spam. Some users flag spam for moderator attention. Some users simply downvote spam. Some users vote to close spam. And yet another group ignores the spam and trudges on to the next question.

@rene It's already been tp'd
@nicael [paint], I guess

that ^^^^
@JanDvorak Oh, I missed that...

I asked because we probably would have to create another tag for questions not about paint, but painting.

@JanDvorak could be the reason. But thinking about it, there used to be bigger reader (10" and more) but most of them have been "forgot" by their producer. Even kindle readers became smaller as the time passed. Now, if you want a kindle reader you are pretty stuck with 6" models

from business perspective, probably not enough demand

But "fruit" by itself can also be plural.
