I swear I had to vote 45 times to get the "Vox Populi" badge - weird.

Tim Stone should make a rock band. They can call it Tim Rock.

Psh, let me have my moment. I'm gonna beat him at something!
user202362
You can use your html to beat his .net >_<
user202362
Still much better than me rep wise, lol
04:11
@animuson I've earned more rep than Jon Skeet on Meta for the month; that's got to count for something right?
(and we can safely say you have too)

@DennisMeng That absolutely counts for something .... whether that something is positive or not is up for debate. ;)

I hate robo-reviewers
Should I rollback this edits?
you already did so :p
but yeah, backtick abuse is super ugly
Not all. just got 5 posts.
And I can leave @comments?
Jotne has approved 103 edit suggestions and rejected 1 edit suggestions
:/ Maybe I should build a list of such users and instead of using ` I'll use [tag:] for their posts. AND HOW COULD THOSE SUGGESTED EDITS BE ACCEPTED?
12:07
I'm "reviewing" my old suggested edits and found this: stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/1739915
I'd reject this now. Should be a comment.

Is there anything that can be done to flag poor edit reviewers? Somehow this was accepted (stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/3239641) despite changing the code in the question.
Flag the post @DuncanJones. Use the "other" option and link in the page you have just linked. That should be enough to notify a mod. There's not a more direct way I think.
Ok, thanks @Bart. Will they actually care about this or should I just not bother them?
They'll care. Especially if they look into review history and it's all rather suspect. I believe they can manually ban them from review for a while.
Ok, good. Thanks.
13:43
Any idea whether the moderator interface understands markdown at all? I ended up copy/pasting URLs in verbatim, but it might be more pleasant for the readers if I can hide links behind descriptive text.
Was going to say that. :)
And requested as a feature and rejected: meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/83149/…
Today: robo-reviewer blame day.
EVERY DAY IS ROBO-REVIEWER BLAME DAY
13:58
I walked into a door today. Fault of a robo-reviewer.

I think reviews need to be graduated based on user reputation. 2k users are just not necessarily ready to review things in a 1-of-3 system. There should be a review score needed per review and each vote adds something to the tally. 2k users get a smaller weighted score than higher rep users.
Or am I foolishly thinking reputation has anything to do with review quality?
I.e. am I naive for thinking 5k or 10k+ users are necessarily better at it?
Recently a high-rep user multiple high-rep users (2k, 4k, 25k) approved a spam edit for example
@ThiefMaster I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule. I was just wondering how wide-spread that is. If there is any correlation between reputation and robo-reviewing, it might be worth considering if the system should reflect that.
14:35
@DuncanJones I'd have to agree with you there. I rarely find that a 10k+ users robo-reviewing. Neither are a majority of 5k+ for that matter. It's usually the 3k ones..
In the instance you provided above, there was one 5k user who approved it.. the rest were 3k..
Just found a 21k user approve this.. stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/3225235 wow..
I guess you can't base things on higher rep.. they are bad reviewers regardless.
14:50
Well, I suppose it's difficult to do the stats correctly.
I guess a simple measure is the number of approvals that were overruled, per-capita by each reputation range.
Which isn't really proof of anything, I suppose, but it's better than nothing.
@JoshC ugh thanks, this user won't do any other reviews for some time...
Wow, looking through his review history, no wonder he makes mistakes.
Some reviews are with 5 seconds of each other.
Myeah, a 4 second average might work as an indicator
more like 10..
Are there any browser plugins or desktop apps that make keeping this chat window open easier?
Perhaps I'm a bit "special", but I keep shutting this down absent-mindedly and wondering where it's gone later. I'm not so used to having browser-based chat sessions I guess.
15:21
There used to be some (irc?) integration at some point. But I don't think that exists any more.

Q: IRC access for the chat?

jszWill there be any way of accessing the chat over IRC? As beautiful ajax interfaces are ... IRC is still #1 for chats.

15:59
ok, I made a mistake on SO, any ideas on how to resolve?

I created a tag, called [tag:snap.svg], whereas there already existed a similar one [tag:snap-svg]. I thought it makes more sense since, that's the actual name.
I then modified a question and added the snap.svg tag instead of snap-svg.
I thought I would be able to add a synpynm to the original one, but can't (needs a score of 5).
Don't add a synonym for such cases
Just use the appropriate tag
The wrong tag will automatically disappear within 24 hours, if no questions are using it.
ah. ok
thanks :)

Q: How can we get rid of misspelled and unused (or "zombie") tags?

MottiDuring the re-tagging of questions, tags sometimes become orphaned from existing questions. Are these zombie tags ever removed from the tags list? What if a tag is misspelled and needs removed? How do we get rid of it? Return to FAQ Index

Yup, thanks. Retagged the questions to the correct one
16:16
@JoshC ohh, someone else already used the idea of using markup instead code markup
16:42
So, what's the correct response to an exact duplicate answer? I've just encountered two answers from the same user that were auto-marked as duplicates. I've decided the questions are duplicates and voted as such. What should I do with the duplicate flag on the answer?

A: Issue compiling opencv in osx maverick: ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64

Nikolaj AaesI solved this by using the -mmacosx-version-min=10.8 option when compiling with g++. It might not be a permanent solution, but at least my code compiles again.

Nikolaj AaesI solved this by using the -mmacosx-version-min=10.8 option when compiling with g++. It might not be a permanent solution, but at least my code compiles again.

It is a valid flag. But I'm not sure what further action is required, other than perhaps a comment on the answer requesting the answerer doesn't post duplicates again.
just dismiss it as helpful
oh wait, you are talking about so and aren't a mod. nvm, i'll do it
Someone thinks he's in the Teacher's Lounge.
could have been from Ask Different ;)
Wow, one moderator likes to see his name plastered on the front page of Meta .... I shall name no names.
They were incorrectly tagged questions!
There were only 5 of them...
No worse than when Nick goes on his [status-completed] sprees. :P
16:55
Yeah, the show-off
Doing actual work
For shame
I was at work last night moderating. What else am I supposed to do when I'm supposed to be sitting in my car staring at a house?
Rich people and their money... Hiring private security to watch their house while they're on vacation even though they have a burglary alarm.
"What exactly were you doing while the gang members ransacked the house?" "I rolled up a voting-ring"

animuson: /nick ani-meta-son (if this was irc...)
Well, even if someone did break in, all we can legally do as security officers is call the police and wait. That's the same thing the alarm company would do...
Before the edit, I read that as anim-tase-on ....

Awesome for finding obsolete comments to flag/delete.
19:38
@Undo You just fetch all comments from a user and make it searchable?
btw: any screenshot?
19:57
@Johanne Yup. Work pretty well, too.
Sounds like a fun project. Don't have OSX, so... :)
:)
The main problem is that it's really good at getting your IP banned from the API.
20:13
No authentification?
otoh, 30 requests/sec is easily possible with a user with over 3000 comments.
20:43
Awww my new phone didn't come today. :( Darn.

I like the smell of new things
for some reason I upvoted this comment (possibly he had very low accept rate or something) now I can't flag it:
Has someone answered your question? Give them credit. — JoePasq Oct 19 '09 at 0:05
humm that was fast
Revoke your upvote, then you should be able to flag it
No it wasn't. It was average speed. You calling us slow?
actually it was slow speed. :P
(read as: mods are usually faster)
I blame Bart. He damaged the door when he ran into it and now it won't open properly.
I heard that...
22:07
Blame the robo-reviewers. It's always their fault.
Gahh I can't find the video on YouTube, but I wanted to link a scene from Family Guy where Pete becomes feminized from a women's camp after his sexual harassment at the factory. Cleveland takes him to a pride event and Peter gets up on stage yelling "It's your fault..." at the crowd, which then proceeds to chase him down the streets.
i will try to find it, I like to find things
You don't mean this one?
well i found it from Bart's comment, does it count?
Psh people need to learn how to use keywords. Unless you know that he was at that specific rally, there's no way to find that video. -.-
22:18
anyone watches Homeland tv series? I want to know if the season 2 or 3 is worth my time
I watched S1, but I was a bit disapointed
