Q: Blog vs meta announcements

Why are important (or what is criteria?) announcements made in the blog and not on corresponding meta sites? I don't like the blog format. I do like Q&A where important problems are risen as upvoted answers. It's not using Stack Exchange authentication, I can't trust comments there, nor someone...

At one point we're getting told "Careers is the big revenue source and helps fund a lot of stuff"

then "enterprise"

the nice thing now is they're going "yanno, smaller sites need love too"

@ShadowWizard no, I am saying that I do agree that thanks to the recent chaos involving the welcoming and tos various changes and such.... some of the blog post did indeed came out as they were purposely avoiding the Meta site to avoid extended discussion. Which probably is not true at all, but sadly that is the impression they gave.

Why do some of my Chrome tabs have a blue dot on them like this?

Well, if you don't get dots it means title doesn't change.

Maybe in some recent update they made it to check the difference, and if change is with brackets they don't show the dots, as many people find this distracting, probably.

(so only for non trivial title change it's showing, or something else... just guessing)

I'm pretty sure it's because the only change is e.g. (1) in the beginning of the title, so if the change will be more prominent dots might still appear. If you can prove it by testing on different sites, you can start a feature request.... ;)

hmm... in gmail, the change isn't in the beginning, it's "Inbox (number here)"
