they are only sometimes homicidal maniacs, so it's fine

2:04 AM
I just realized what my colleagues had been discussing was about "P2P Lending", not "P2P Landing"...
confusing very similar sounding words...

3:02 AM
@Somewhat ehm
So basically sparing a buddy a dime, with last generation's buzzwords?
Needs more cowbell blockchain

3:46 AM
Behold, a blockchain

@YvetteColomb so true!
@Oded that is probably the reason they do it this way. But we were talking about Tim Post and the possibility he will suddenly rage quit. Though it is as unlikely as Joel will rage quit. :D
You are still in London?

8:05 AM
@ShadowWizard I would almost assume they have plans in case either of those things...
actually no, I don't think they do ._.
SE's bus factor is scary

8:16 AM
I'd like a kitten room
I heard that there's places where you can go into a cafe and pay per hour to play with cats and kittens
if this was here I swear I'd spend hundreds of euros just chillin with cats

@Magisch Its a joke from a show called hyperdrive

8:32 AM
_
?

I can't find any videos of it on youtube

@JourneymanGeek indeed, they can't really plan such a thing...
@JourneymanGeek of what?

@ShadowWizard well actually, not ragequits
@ShadowWizard the kitten room I am referring to ;)

8:49 AM
but general attrition and such

So, if say Joel decided to leave, in a planned, orderly fashion, they'd have a rough idea what to do?

Cry?
Panic?
Hand over the keys to Experts Exchange?

Lol. Have a plan :p

9:07 AM
real talk though
kitten rooms are an underserved market
someone oughta make a chain of social spaces / cafes with cats around to play with
call it kit chat

not necessarily the same, but
A cat café is a theme café whose attraction is cats that can be watched and played with. == Etymology == Cat café has been officially recognized in the online edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English since August 2015. == History == The world's first cat café, "Cat Flower Garden" (貓花園), opened its doors in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1998. The Taiwanese cat café eventually became a tourist destination, attracting tourists from Japan as well as all over the globe. Although the origin of cat café is in Taiwan, the concept blossomed in Japan, where the first one named "Neko no Jikan" (lit. "Cat's Time"...

@Magisch we have one, bit of controvery with that

@JourneymanGeek why's that?
Are the cats not being treated well?

this is a bit sad
@Magisch naw, landlords and such

I would definitely peruse a cat cafe
if we had one near my town, that's where I'd be every weekend

9:13 AM
@Magisch a local cat rescue might work
and you'd do some good at the same time

1 hour later…
10:34 AM
There's a few cat cafes here but a review I found wasn't impressed. Too many rules and too much hand sanitizer

10:50 AM
"too much hand sanitizer"

night shift ._.

The Knight shift is a shift in the nuclear magnetic resonance frequency of a paramagnetic substance first published in 1949 by the UC Berkeley physicist Walter D. Knight.For an ensemble of N spins in a magnetic induction field B → {\displaystyle {\vec {B}}} , the nuclear Hamiltonian for the Knight shift is expressed in Cartesian form by: H ...

I must have misheard you

NIGHT SHIFT!

Meta Politics is hot... as usual...

Wes
@Somewhat ?

somewhat hot? ;p

Wes
I'd like to ask a question that is (probably) off topic for all the sites. Maybe someone could recommend a chat. Software recommendation. WISWIG html editor. I just want to copy what someone drew by hand and can't be bothered with the whole CSS layout thing.
Is there any chat room that would be an acceptable question to ask?

@Wes there's an actual site for software recs

Wes
Really didn't know that.

6:05 PM
well, there's Software Recommendations ... but ensure to follow this guideline

your options for WYSIWIG html editors is small tho

Wes
Not running windows or mac.
So Dreamweaver / frontpage (if they still exist) are out.

there was a FOSS one

Wes
Maybe eclipse has a plugin
But eugh.
Maybe I'm just being lazy.

Wes
6:07 PM
Just seems like a lot of effort.

I was thinking kompozer but that's mannnnn

Visual Studio Code has some live preview plugins for HTML, though I can't really say much since I haven't tried it

Wes
Thats helpful though.
I've tried Apatana long time ago and sea monkey too.
Didn't know netbeans had one.
I'll try netbeans.

NetBeans... remembering the first time I touched JSP

Wes
When you touched jsp would you have been using JSTL at that point in time.
Cause I'm pretty sure jstl is nearly gone (thank god)
and jsp has been deprecated years

8:09 PM
ugh, done catching up the latest 100 network-wide meta posts...
time to sleep...

1 hour later…

@ShadowWizard there are many valid reasons to do it that way when you know someone is leaving (whether they initiated that or not...).
And yes, still in London :)
Though not next week. Next week I am in Prague, going to devcon4.
