So do you want the easy way? Make a nice pretty .aspx page that displays as HTML with an error block in a div in a placeholder saying "You need to install ASP.NET" and have it change on ASP.NET being installed to instead say "ASP.NET is installed" and then just have the tool launch this webpage i...
codinghorror.com/blog/2010/12/… ~ Does using IWA/NTLM on IIS count as a DDL (domain drivers license)? Should we add an entry to the disambiguation list on WP for both IDL and DDL? :p (first question serious, second question joke)

What, if anything, should be done with questions which post source-code that are really virii? Should the user account be deleted as well?

I thought that was a bit silly; if you're taking giant blocks of code you find on SO and executing them without reading them, you're doing something very wrong and probably won't survive very long on the Internet
@drachenstern As I said, if you take random blocks of code you find on the Internet and execute them on your machine without knowing what they do, you're not going to last very long
Some of the sites we're hosting are compromised by... I don't know what.
Every directory on the webserver contains a .htaccess file which redirects a user coming from a search engine to a page which doesn't even exist - see the .htaccess file below.
The problem first appeared on 10 december 2010...
did you see the comment about the badge colors == magnets?
> Re: badges, how about keeping them as pieces of paper, but turning the colored dots into magnets that attach them to the whiteboard? @Jin. – RegDwight

First, I want to thank you for your valuable feedback for the first design concept. Programmers.SE is a site about people and conceptual design more than coding. The old design simply did not reflect that; so it failed.
I talked to Jeff about this, and he agrees that Programmers.se is much diffe...
The brainfuck programming language is an esoteric programming language noted for its extreme minimalism. It is a Turing tarpit, designed to challenge and amuse programmers, and is not suitable for practical use. Its name has been variously bowdlerized, sometimes appearing as brainf***, brainf*ck, brainfsck, b****fuck or BF. The name of the language is generally not capitalized except at the start of a sentence, although it is a proper noun.
Language design
Urban Müller created brainfuck in 1993 with the intention of designing a language which could be implemented with the smallest pos...
Whitespace is an esoteric programming language developed by Edwin Brady and Chris Morris at the University of Durham (also developers of the Kaya programming language). It was released on 1 April 2003 (April Fool's Day). Its name is a reference to whitespace characters. Unlike most programming languages, which ignore or assign little meaning to most whitespace characters, the Whitespace interpreter ignores any non-whitespace characters. Only spaces, tabs and linefeeds have meaning. An interesting consequence of this property is that a Whitespace program can easily be contained within the ...
I didn't take a look at the link yet, but I imagine that AShelly's answer is probably more universally useful...however, having not dared to let my fingers type out some Brainfuck before, I decided that now was as good of a time as any and was able to get the following, which I think works.

I think we're going about it all wrong, it should just be written in 1337-hax0rs, like Google, instead of a language, because all programming languages are biased.
How do I load XML into a List component in MXML Flash Builder 4?
I tried using Actionscript to create a loader, but I can't seem to add an event listener to the loader. I've tried to create a local service but I couldn't get that to work either.
I'm making an XML driven AIR app. I plan on ha...
I am building an application used for my company (not publicly used) that requires multiple .exe files stored on a server to be opened and used on the client machine. I can use a regular href link to the .exe file but then a dialog box will appear asking me to save it first. I'm looking for a w...

The challenge is to determine whether ASP.NET is enabled within IIS7 in a reliable and correct way.
Enabling/Disabling is done in this case by going into:
Server Manager ->

so that was the reference post @Zypher so you don't have to dig for it, figured you could say if it was migration worthy since I know you visit here and not sure who else on SF does.

@LanceRoberts The way I read it the OP had misunderstood the difference between proposed and actual synonyms so it wasn't actually a bug. But I could be wrong.
Having the question marked as [status-bydesign] might have helped others not make the same mistake, but there was quite a bit of flame bait going on in the comments.
It should be just like saying you need a certain resolution screen/colour depth. However - the customer is always right and if they want to use IE8 you should make sure it works.
It does work, but good lord is IE8 slow... and they all want fancy clientside (ok, well to make it spec fancy it should be clientside, no?) behaviors, so IE8 is so slow.
I've purposely not updated to IE9 on my dev box on account of most of my customers are XP/IE8
