Just went throu some questions on Personal Money & Finance SE that were tagged [scam] - Funny enough - I looked up an user and read their 'About me' which screams scam all over. Was thinking about reporting them to the CM - but have a look for yourself and let me know if this wouldn't qualify for a serious intervention. Since I'm not firm on the 'about me' or profile policies here, I'd like to hear some oppinions

@iLuvLogix don't think it's any sarcasm. People are free to have promotional profiles. As long as their posts are clean of spam and of decent quality, it's fine. Nothing to report.

when i search aws-sam, it does show up but it's not first. if i revise to sam the list doesn't update, almost like it's broken or somethin

Yeah, figured it out. There was a staff-only thing in testing and they turned it off now so it works for me.

In the past, the link for a user to delete their profile while suspended was obscured as the only way to access one's account settings would route users through the "Edit profile" page, which 404s for suspended users. However, there's now the "Settings" button which routes through the Preferences page, which doesn't 404 for suspended users

...as do any of the other tabs in one's account settings.

Does this mean that suspended users can now access the page to delete one's profile directly, and the bullet regarding suspended users in the profile/account deletion FAQ is now obsolete? (The instructions there say to use the Settings button, not the "Edit profile" button as before.)

@Glorfindel Would you mind testing the above with an alternate account?
