@410 Basically, one of the posts it's based on was subject to a rollback-war recently (from people who were unaware that the top answers to FAQ posts should reflect the updated consensus).
(For the record, I did not participate in said rollback-war.)
Anyone that can chime in here? I have hammered that question but now another user commented and added a feature-request tag which I approved as it had a slight merit. But now they insist the dupes aren't correct either so I rolled back their edit so the dupe vote makes sense again. My added duplicates nor my comment seem to have resolved the dispute.
@rene As currently written, it's not really a question ("hope there are more options"), so it's thus unclear and closeable; however, if there are relevant questions, I generally favor closing as duplicate over one of the other reasons since it comes across as "friendlier" and points the author to those questions. I think your hammer was correct.
If it were not only retagged, but also edited to explicitly say "please provide an alternative image host for Chinese users", it wouldn't be.
I'd like to see a discussion area related to the topics of hell, unforgiveness, the unpardonable sin, and related discussion. I'm an expert in the area, I'd be happy to answer questions.
wow... that tagging issue is actually being discussed here ^_^
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Editing it was somehow above my paygrade. What I was sure of was that the dupe links did not contain answers to the OP's request. The OP didn't submit a bug report. There is no related bug.
@life-on-mars Here on Meta Stack Exchange, we close questions as duplicates if the answer to the target question also addresses a given question, even though the questions themselves may not be exactly the same. This is to link users to the canonical posts regarding topics.
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Now I think you're getting as defensive as rene... to make it clear... I'm not defending the OP and I too think it should be closed... please don't misunderstand me
It can be a support question (answer: SE uses Imgur. Users are free to upload on another image host and embed it manually, but images uploaded from SE will be hosted on Imgur), or feature request: add an option to host an image on blablabla. Though until now, SE doesn't show any hint to move to another service/self-host it (even for many other reasons than geo-blocked), so it's kinda moot in the first place.
@rene hehe... no... the Netherlands are great... in no other country you'll find companies that build rowing bicycles... that silly airport doesn't count
@life-on-mars Everyone complains about the TSA security officers here in the US, but if you compare them to other security forces internationally, they're a walk in the park
@M.A.R. hehe... personally, I was trying to understand... regarding the post, I only thought it would be nice for him to have a chance to understand why
Next Meta post: "Will the post "Will concerns regarding the move to CC BY-SA 4.0 elicit any further dialogue from Stack Exchange, Inc.?" elicit any further dialogue from Stack Exchange, Inc.?"
