Well, I miss the option to close the image upload by clicking anywhere outside of it. Now we can close it and get back to edit only by either uploading or clicking Cancel.
Tim has a major point with the "Getting managers out of bed" thing. If something like this goes down, people are usually unsatisfied with responses even an hour later
Internet time is just really really rapid, doubly so on twitter
@ShadowWizard my current view is you can't really make the haters happy. There's a few whose views might align with what SO corp wants to be - but its not a matter of writing blog posts.
@ShadowWizard Cat on keyboard alert: My Ubuntu install is set to shut down when the power button is pressed (emergency power off in case of spillage) and I'e actually had a cat shut down my machine!
@JourneymanGeek issue is the core team of members who slowly but surely drift away. Haters from outside, or those who choose to break everything and rage quit, can't be satisfied indeed, ever, and SE should not bother about them a bit, IMO.
Where I am now, the cat has been drained not to touch the computer lying on the floor though it's nice and warm.
My normal cat training method (water pistol) couldn't be used in this case though, so I've found a new way of training cats.

Hah! When does this happen on Windows???
The following packages will be upgraded:
curl libcurl3 libcurl3-gnutls secureboot-db
4 to upgrade, 0 to newly install, 0 to remove and 0 not to upgrade.
Need to get 8,398 B/518 kB of archives.
After this operation, 21.5 kB DISK SPACE WILL BE FREED.
Quite frankly. I've got nearly a decade on SE. I nearly instinctively get how things work and where I don't, I have some small influence here. Very few users instinctively get how to do SE well
@ShadowWizard I remember not wanting to wake up my then girlfriend and just putting on a pair of socks from the unfolded bunch at 7 AM in the near dark and a few hours later someone told me:
Hey you have one dark green and one dark red sock on (obviously they looked both the same colour in the dark)
> The favorites tab on your profile has a counter indicating how many of your favorite questions have received answers since you last viewed that tab. When you click on the tab, recently changed questions will be highlighted. "Changed" includes comments on or edits to the question and new or edited answers. This is a way to get updates on questions that you yourself didn't ask.
So there's been 140 'changes' to those 80 questions ;)
So you guys are all familiar with what happened with the envelope and the website design.
Since the website is very mature now and people don't really expect experimental/unfinished changes being deployed on all websites, I'm just wondering why you don't make a meta post asking for feedback befo...
I don't get that. We change clothes regularly and want them to be fashionable, we want our furniture to not be outdated either... but if a website changes a design... we get mad :P
@Tinkeringbell angry is usually result of being offended
omg poor Tim!
So, someone went and flagged every review Iโve ever written on Amazon as inappropriate, and guess what? Yep. They deleted them without seeing that pattern, contacting me, or even looking at the content.
I just love what I get for all the public accountability I assume for work.
Ring of recollection: Arcane, rare. When rang, all creatures within hearing range will have an image of user's choice appear in their brain. Requires either a minor illusion spell or a horrifying visage spell to set the image, after which the bell can be used once. Ringing the bell without a set image has the same effects as ringing an ordinary bell. A bell without a set image still emits magical aura. If set to a horrifying visage, the spell retains its damaging power.
They're probably taking longer with the response cause at this point there's going to be people backlashing no matter what. And what they say affects the folks who matter to the community and are the community
@JourneymanGeek personal and honest opinion: keeping silent for too long is doing more damage than saying something some might not like. It's still not in the "too long" for me though. :)
