@RebeccaChernoff slogging over some stuff and still at the office because I keep getting interrupted during my normal daytime for things that aren't really my problem. I knew I should have called in for the morning and worked from home and yelled at people.
Also, upset that I put in some items in the tracker that need to be tracked and then my boss goes and closes them as "not important" when I put them in at the LOWEST LEVEL OF THE TRACKER because they do need to be tended to in the future.
I think I'm going to change the way I name them:

How do most people name classes / IDs? Is there a statistic about this somewhere?

@kiamlaluno no, on meta people complain about others having sockpuppets and getting upvoted from the sockpuppets (doubly so when the site first started) so he is poking fun at people who have sockpuppets. It's painfully obvious to the regulars that it's his primary account. Just funny.
@jcolebrand Reminds me that I had a situation the other day where Grace Note's feature request for on-site comment editing actually would have come in handy, heh.
@jcolebrand For sure I know that personal issues made me more irritant, lately. I surely didn't like that somebody who was not participating to the main site, or the meta site, came and down-voted my questions, or answers on meta.
@mootinator Yeah, I'm not sure I should do that ... means I spend way too much time in here. Also, on average, 1 in 10 messages are mine. And I only came on this server in the fall.

@Manjot No. I read in a BlackBerry development book at a local bookstore that RIM charges $200 per year for up to 10 apps. That was enough to convince me to put the book back. It also made me realize that Apple isn't so expensive after all.

@balpha I can't think of a particularly good way to make keyboard control of that dialog box work either, but it does seem less than ideal that the focus stays on #wmd-input initially. You could always focus on #filename-input, but lot of good that'd do them if they couldn't tell I suppose.
Searching for a job in the SF Bay Area can be a nightmare sometimes, mainly due to recruitment systems that look like they were developed by Rube Goldberg.
Imagine a job application system to which you can upload a résumé PDF. It will parse the PDF and auto-insert your address information with the data it finds there.
Great, right? Probably took a four-person team two months to develop.
But your résumé PDF is then discarded, and you have to paste its contents into a textarea which of course breaks formatting and tables.
But it's required. Applications that do not have a full résumé in the textarea will not be considered.
Seriously, how fucking dumb is that. And it's not even one company's internal recuriting system, but one that you can rent as a service.
And nobody ever complains of course, because you want the job! But I'm seriously tempted to sign my applications with: "P.S. your recruiting system should be marinated with gasoline, and thrown into a burning pit."
@badpssockpuppet apparently, parsing out the address info (and a broken plain text version of the résumé). I am not kidding! And I double-checked I didn't misunderstand.

Annoyingly, Steve isn’t saying publicly what Beepl actually does, although the strap line reads a “smarter way to question the world.” They also call themselves an “expertise platform” and “semantic technology company”, it says here…. Whatever. It’s clearly some lame kind of Quora clone and he’ll be back in 6 months asking for his old job back.
RIM wants $200 (USD) as an “administration fee” to complete registration. Yup. No $200, no passing go, no uploading free application to app store. Thank you, come again.
@Manjot I mentioned this yesterday.The thing is that nowhere on their site does it mention anything about it. They just slap it on you at the end of the paperwork process.
Ok, I'm building for 4.2, since it's iPad only and might I want to rely on newer features. No need for anyone to have 3.2 anyway. (I think we went through this once and you have 4.x, just checking.)
@Manjot So call them. I wish you the best of luck with that. Look, just because you are not charging your users, doesn't mean RIM doesn't incur a cost hosting/distributing your app. They have to hire technicians, run a data center, hire lawyers to protect you and them...
