> A great number of people wrote in to note that it's EPOCH Day 15000, so don't expect the post office to run, and I'm pretty sure the markets will be closed. And presumably your employer gave you a paid vacation day? - CmdrTaco
@MichaelMrozek Earlier, you said "today." Which is it? Today, or long-term? Alas, it sems you're just another politician who makes too many promises he can't keep....
Before Stack Exchange the rule was that every trilogy moderator is also a Meta Stack Overflow moderator. However, I do recall a conversation recently where it was mentioned that Meta Stack Overflow now has too many moderators.
I do however believe that Stack Overflow moderators at least should h...
I've noticed that do to the high volume of activity on the site it appears as though only questions that were asked or answered in the last ten minutes are appearing on the main page of the site, meaning if you asked the question 15 minutes ago it won't appear on the main page anymore until it ge...
@Pollyanna If you do, it's about the 'D' key, it's supposed to collapse the current message and move to the next comment following hierarchy (so it'd give focus to the first child comment if there's any), except now collapsing a comment hides all of its children.
How do I delete these draft things? I wrote an answer to a question then decided not to post but the draft answer won't go away. I've tried closing the browser and starting it again, and also tried blanking out the box, but neither of these ideas worked.
@MichaelM - I just feel that if I release it with more languages and larger device support (iPad), then it makes more "noise", and will generate more users.
Well of course releasing in more languages is likely to get you more users, but it requires a bunch of people to help. If you release in English and people like it it'll be easy to get people to translate it; it's harder when you're recruiting people for a project they've never seen or heard of
def translate(post, from, to = English):
if post.is_answer() and post.tagged("javascript") or post.tagged("jquery"):
return "You should totally drop that and use jQuery instead."

@Moshe If it's only words and short phrases why don't you run them through Google and then ask people to double check you haven't got nonsense. They might be more willing/able to do that rather than the whole thing.
I question the sanity of pinging all matches when you do that. What are the odds somebody wants to talk to everyone with the name "Michael" in a room, as opposed to a particular person?
Well... Right now, I only see "Michael" displayed for the lot of you - window isn't wide enough for last names. So typing @Michael saves me the trouble of trying to figure out who it is I'm addressing.
On Meta, we have many 'meta' memes. Unicorns, waffles, etc. We even have an entire sub-category of memes specifically designed for images, such as free-hand circles and lens flares.
Well, it is times to put both your artistic skills, along with your meme knowledge to action!
I am offering a 550...
@badp sorry, but I can't use that; we're preparing a change to allow arbitrary complex numbers as vote counts, and the Riemann sphere only has one infinity.
The Oyo Empire was a Yoruba empire of what is today western and northern Nigeria. The empire was established by the Yoruba in the 14th century and grew to become the largest West African states encountered by pre colonial explorers. It rose to preeminence through the outstanding organizational skills of The Yoruba, wealth gained from trade and its possession of a powerful cavalry. The Oyo Empire was the most politically important state in the region from the mid-17th to the late 18th century, holding sway not only over other kingdoms in modern day Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, but also over o...

funnily enough, the distinction made on yesterday's Guardian tech podcast was that Quora is more for open questions, and Stack Overflow more for... wait for it... closed questions.
@badp I'm pretty sure we need $('input#submit-button').attr('type', 'image').attr('src', 'http://i.imgur.com/X2idZ.gif'); added to the userscript immediately
@balpha It happens sometimes when your previous message didn't go through and then you post something else, or something. Even on non-beta browsers. :P
But it happens almost never (for me) so I haven't bothered to poke at it, heh.
