@bjb568 ... not really...
You're part of a few % that's advanced at a young age.
Mature on the other hand...
Ok, fine. But there is another group which is, well, pretty evident on the internet: those who never develop critical thinking and empathy skills.
Or, at least, develop them really late.
The problem is that those changes seem to be cultural, rather than natural. It's not hard to create an environment which doesn't teach them. It's also not hard to teach them before adolescence. They can also be taught disjointly, which would void the whole concept.

> A child sees only a limited number of solutions to a problem. Adolescents become increasingly capable of solving problems in more complex ways. During this state you will learn to anticipate the consequences of a particular action, think logically, understand different points of view.
This (part of a) definition (section) in the textbook.
What about it?
I assert that it is a poor definition that can be misleading.
It doesn't apply to a nonnegliable group of people without conflicting with the widely accepted definition of adolescence, the phycological transition between childhood and adulthood marked by brain development, an increase mental maturity, and social changes that starts around the beginning of puberty.
Right, but adolescence can be earlier or later.
Adolescence is development, yes.
But it could be when young.
It could be when old.
It's typically when a teen.
02:48
I'm not complaining about accepted-adolescence—age, I'm complaining about textbook-adolescece—actual changes that happen during adolescence.
Doesn't everyone?
Actually cancel that - we hit an issue with deployment which means we’re saving SQL shenanigans until tomorrow.

@Mooseman - Question: On one of the answers to my post I can see a system message talking about the answer needing additional references etc...

http://lifehacks.stackexchange.com/a/7432/7123

Is this added automatically or manually?

@Mooseman Having saw both Jurassic Park 3 and 100episodes worth of ponies I beg to disagree.
@Lix Moderator post notices are added manually. I added it on that post.

Ahh - ok cool...
I mean most of the answers don't use any sort of citations or references so it was a little strange that only this answer got the message

primarily because of the length?
@SPArchaeologist You have the right to be wrong... this is the internet.
@Lix Mostly. The bigger issue is they don't say how or when to use it, and they don't have any sources to back up their claim, which is preferred.
