@ Frank If I want to drop you a quick message in the shed (not now!) but am not sure I want it to stay there, how long until you get it, then I can delete it? (I know that the Niall will see, and Wax I think, but it's not for permanent purposes...
What I mean (and I seem to be less than coherent today!) is in general, even if you're not there, if I delete it right after, does it still go into your notifications?
Proposed Q&A site for cultural historians, foodies, psycho-geographers, and anyone interested in the cultural, historical and culinary aspects of pizza and its regional variants both within Italy and in the global Italian diaspora
Yesterday I tried to vote up a question in the Great Outdoors - my second one ever on the site, and first for the day, and a red box came up with a weird message saying something like my action was unavailable and try again later. What was that?
Speaking of which - I saw something here yesterday that had detected the "F" word on the Spanish site. (Can't find the link.) Was that edited, or deleted?
@gunr2171 I was just asking cuz I was here one day and was going to flag one, but was taught it was better to edit some of them. Was curious what happened to that one.
It's not the design, it's the diy nature of the topics. The barrier for just being able to think of an idea at all is very low, there's not really a natural filter.
That's the wrong question. The question is, are there enough pizza questions to warrant the creation of a new site only for pizza? — J. Musser1 min ago
Proposed Q&A site for people who share a passion for Cochin, historians, people who are exploring the colonial era, people who are studying the ancient silk road, travellers who are interested in Cochin, Fort Cochin, Mattanchery and Muziris.
@Frank Do you think the op who wrote this could benefit by a few instructions newbie-newbie style, or is she just looking for a function that makes the computer do all the work? I could help her a little if you think the former.
@Frank That's so cool! I wish I knew how to search that stuff!
@Frank It does, unless what she's looking for is more basic, like stuff you've taught me. For instance, she could check out some sites before posting - look at tags, put her keywords in the search field on the site, go to chat, etc. I was thinking of some pre-posting help, instead of waiting til the question's posted and have to get it flagged and moved.
Oh - I think I saw a recent meta question where the mods want to be able to edit their own help section pages. I upvoted but didn't favorite. Can you find it for me? I'm curious to see the action. Oh wait, I can find it by going through my own upvotes, right?
@Frank I don't remember. I think it started as a question asking to move a question on the front help center page over to the list of how to ask section. I think it ended with the op asking to be able to customize that list themselves. It was like my old question about wishing we could change the order of questions in the "asking" section of the help center.
They wanted to move a bullet point under the Accounts section into the ask section. They thought "Why have I been limited to one question a week" should go over into the Asking list. And I believe they said they'd really like moderators to be able to modify that page on their own site.
Asking is one of the more visible categories of Help Center, placed in upper left.
Among others, it contains the article on Why are questions no longer being accepted from my account? (blue circle below).
But the article Why is the system asking me to wait a day or more before asking another ...
If you're not dead-set against moving the furniture, you could use furniture sliders - on most carpets, they'll allow you to single-handed move even heavy pieces of furniture without undue effort, and can be left in place between vacuumings. That's not very hacky though, so...
Use a leaf blower ...
Let's see what you guys think. I'm a little out of my mind lol. There is a guy from my past who asked me out once, while we were best friends and I had to say no at the time because my grandparents were very strict and wouldn't allow dating until I was on my own, but I've always liked him because...
There was a popular pizza chain that I had worked at with my girlfriend. They got bought out by another, and we also quit or jobs. Then the new owners (called "Vocelli's") ran some weird television ad that had a bunch of shadowy "mobsters" with fake Italian accents threatening the owners of the old pizza place, mob style (including a guy named Vinnie), tearing down the sign and turning it into Vocelli's.
@JasonC Hey Jason. Just popped back to thank you for your answer to this I had been planning to do something similar. Even though it's a dup now, I think it was nice of you!
@Frank Wow, you did eat fast! I didn't even figure out what to eat yet!
