If you're not dead-set against moving the furniture, you could use furniture sliders - on most carpets, they'll allow you to single-handed move even heavy pieces of furniture without undue effort, and can be left in place between vacuumings. That's not very hacky though, so... Use a leaf blower ...

There was a popular pizza chain that I had worked at with my girlfriend. They got bought out by another, and we also quit or jobs. Then the new owners (called "Vocelli's") ran some weird television ad that had a bunch of shadowy "mobsters" with fake Italian accents threatening the owners of the old pizza place, mob style (including a guy named Vinnie), tearing down the sign and turning it into Vocelli's.
