@Doorknob Darn, missed it. :-(

To be fair, the criticism should probably have been taken down a notch.

user163250
Cuz, you know. 13.

Haha
Another dollar in the swear jar.

12:21 AM
What's wrong with swearing?
I do agree that going easy on beginners/young-people/idiots/low-reps is bad.

I was just playing along with Cupcake's comment.

@3ventic debian, why?

You're all late

So what was the question for?

Yup. Recommendation.

@Jamal could be about "tools related to programing" but I will err on the safe side and use unclear

I went with Super User on this one.

@bjb568 Just out of curiosity what's wrong with that? (I suck at web layouts, but just wondering.)
Actually nevermind; I should probably just go learn how the flex stuff works.

"Don't rely too much on automatic calculation done by the browser." Wut? Y?

Oh that part. I guess that is a weird statement isn't it.

"Look at the method I have created" Looks like crap. Not responsive. Doesn't work for arbitrary divs.
"Considering you have not given margin, padding and border" Quite obvious, since it's not in the question
"2 items in a row, the flex-basis is given from 50% - 34%" I think I can compute basic arithmetic myself. It would be more helpful if you told us wth flex-basis is.

@bjb568 Heh; well, "Looks like crap. Not responsive." sums up about every web site I've ever had to make. Web programming will never make sense to me.

That's why you don't work for idiots.

@animuson It's true. Skyrim also makes for awkward family moments.
@bjb568 Heh

@animuson The first comment is also... er, interesting

That "Lindons" guy has some serious issues to work out...

@bjb568 Or ghost toast.
Wtf was I just watching with a ghost toaster. Maybe it was a comic.
Dammit, "ghost toaster" has some serious google pollution

Pfft, you use google?

NO. NO OF COURSE I DON'T. ...

Oh, yeah. Maybe I should make that switch, actually.
I've only used it a couple of times but I remember it not letting me down.

3:36 AM
@bjb568 is that real?

@VotetoClose No. It's internet.

Well; it's my default search engine now, let's see how it goes.
Quick give me something to find! I can't think of anything to search for under pressure.
Oh wait yes I can

@bjb568 Why?

Sweet, I know how to pee blue now.

@JasonC Ducks. Birds. Kittens. Meta. Unicorns. Unicoins. User Experience Stack Exchange. For loops.
@JasonC ?!
@Doorknob It's better.

@bjb568 It's actually quite fascinating that you chose the sequence meta => unicorns => unicoins => user experience stack exchange. I'm sure it means something, I have no idea what.

@JasonC I like how people think it's abuse/stupid/dumb/etc to like have a gorilla/tiger/turtle/etc for a pet for a couple/few years since they were a baby, and then put them out in the wild to make for themselves.. because obviously they will likely die. Yet, humans think that they have to hide almost everything from their kids, make them believe in fairy tales, lie to them constantly, and then the parent's somehow think that once they turn 18 that they can go make it on their own.

user163250

Q: Can [meta-tag:advanced-search] be made a synonym for [meta-tag-search]?

CupcakeI noticed that we have two different meta tags for "search" questions: search advanced-search These are analogous to the same meta tags (or just tags?) on Meta Stack Exchange. Can [advanced-search] be made into a synonym for [search]? I see no reason why we need both. "Advanced search" quest...

Sorry. :(

@JasonC the terms require you to upvote all my posts. So yes.

I don't know why I never synonymized those on MSE.

user163250
@animuson there's a synonym proposal, did you just do that?: meta.stackexchange.com/tags/search/synonyms

user163250
@animuson ah, right.

There's a massive wall of my name on that site too.

user163250
4:17 AM
@animuson so can a single moderator unilaterally create synonyms, or do people still have to vote on the proposal?

A: What's the longest interval between an answer being posted and accepted?

VonCI finally made a DSE(Data Stack Exchange) query: longest time to accept answer, for a user I have 9 answers accepted 4 years laters after writing said answer.

We have the option to create/vote on it like a normal user or just unilaterally make them ourselves.
Depends which UI we go through.

^ Now that's dedication.

user163250
@JasonC wtf?

user163250
It's all covered by VonC.

4:19 AM
@Cupcake He's been manning that post for 4 years.

Talk about a useless question.
Someone could easily just unaccept then accept an answer and destroy those stats.

@animuson Does unaccepting remove the original AcceptedByOriginator vote?

Well the system doesn't create new events for when votes get reversed, it marks those votes as "deleted"
I doubt those would show up in the data dumps.

@animuson Yeah I don't see anything that could indicate a vote that has been deleted.

@AnnaLear global login system? Why not just do a location.reload() , instead of making the user click on "click here" to refresh the page? Wouldn't a global login make it too easy for people to get fanatic badge on every site? At least, if you just use location.reload() instead of / or after display "user you are logged in, click to refresh the page" , then they still have to actually go to the site that day.

4:26 AM
Fastest accept is much more interesting. I think I've got one at 2 or 3 seconds.

So we just need to find Eggs McLaren and get him to twiddle the checkbox on stackoverflow.com/questions/4/… real quick.

@TimStone yea, but sock puppet accounts don't count

@VoteToClose ... the badges are the least of our problems with global login. A far more interesting issue is what to do with visiting sites people don't have profiles on, among others. Just force-refreshing the page isn't a solution at all.
Also, fun fact: simply hitting the home page isn't enough for the Fanatic badge anyway.

I've never actually seen a fun fact.

Butcherbirds are magpie-like birds in the genus Cracticus. They are native to Australasia. The Australian magpie has recently been placed in the same genus, and this new taxonomy has been supported by recent phylogenetic analyses. Together with three species of currawong and two species of Peltops, butcherbirds and the Australian magpie form the subfamily Cracticinae in the family Cracticidae. Butcherbirds are large songbirds, being between in length. Their colour ranges from black-and-white to mostly black with added grey plumage, depending on the species. They have a large, straight ...

i really miss abusing "lacks sufficient understanding of the problem being solved" or whatever that was.
i.e. "poster is an idiot"

@JasonC abuse was why the close reason was removed

@JanDvorak lies. constant abuse and misuse is a terrible reason to remove a close reason.

@jadarnel27 whoa! "Sorry my random links didn't help. You're probably just an idiot." was totally going to be my next, polite, constructive response!

The HTML was exactly how I expected it to be from the beginning. My issues stemmed from 1. it not being valid HTML (form tag between table and tr tags), and 2. the Chrome inspector trying to fix my busted markup by immediately closing the form in the inspector view (going to "View Page Source" reveals the markup I expected).
I didn't realize the Chrome Dev Tools would lie to me. My world is shaken.
@JasonC Haha, that would have been totally appropriate =P
