This proposal is very complex and gives the power to 125 rep people which is dangereous, whereas more power to gold badge holders would solve this issue and even more. Weighted system is also bad because it gives power to people beyond-their-league which is harmful. We already see many questions closed mostly by irrelevant people, and the experts currently do not have the power to override them, and it is sometimes close to impossible to reopen certain questions due to the "Leave closed" trigger-happy reviewers. — Final Contest 18 mins ago

Not really @DroidDev. Afaik it accounts for mass serial-downvotes within a short timeframe. It doesn't pick up targeted voting spread out over a long period of time.

If you do think that's happening to you though, as a user, you have the option of contacting the team or perhaps even flagging a mod and asking them to pass it on.

The former probably being the better option, given that mods themselves can't see votes. Only broad patterns if there are any, if I'm not mistaken.

Then again, I think Laszlo already did that before.

No, I think there is an actual feature available to mods that broadly indicates voting patterns if there is anything particularly problematic. But then again, that's only what I've heard, what exactly is available to them I don't know. I only know they can't see individual votes.

Looking at your 33 posts on SO, I could probably get away with downvoting all of them when spreading it out over enough time. But that's where it concerns automated mechanisms.

The team could potentially have a look and see that I seem to be downvoting all your posts and establish that (given positively scored contributions) it's unlikely I'm voting on content, but might be voting on you personally.

Then again, this is all rather hypothetical. Generally we tend to want to see patterns, even when in actual fact there are none. It's a human thing.

Bottom line is, if you feel you're being wronged and continuously so, just contact those who can deal with it. And if they say nothing of concern is going on, you'll have to accept that and move on.

@DroidDev Don't suggest edits on extremely new posts, because there's usually a 2k user who's already going for the edit.

Leave the tab open for like 15 minutes and check if it still needs the edit

The system somewhat prevents it

If there's a pending suggested edit, the edit button shows review instead of allowing a direct edit

But if they've loaded the page before you submitted the edit, that won't happen

Additionally, they can still browse to site/posts/id/edit to skip the review and cause a edit conflict on purpose, though that's very rarely the case.

Q: Preventing conflicting simultaneous edits

Right now people over-write each other, edit unknowingly when others are editing, etc. Could we improve the edit-feature maybe to lock the question while it's being edited, and show who is currently editing it? @Braiam: and take a look at that user's downvote/upvote rate to get some idea about his habit.

I have seen him doing this with others, too, and not withdrawing the downvotes after the fixes, seems they are binding and remaining votes. :) Anyway, he is now reported to the team.
