After reading this question on Meta I was wondering if there's a valid reason to not block Let Me DuckDuckGo That For You. I know it's not nearly as famous, but I think the same reasoning about banning LMGTFY applies here, i.e. answering with these kind of links defeats the purpose of building a...

A quick check suggests maybe 17 extant uses across all of the network. That's not really worth a blacklist - most of the entries will expire before they're ever hit, leaving us back in the same spot in a few months. If it ever becomes a BIG problem anywhere, we can deal with it at that time. ...

I'm not averse to blacklisting the site, but... It's unnecessary right now.

If that ever changes, I'll do it without a second thought.

Is information as to what tags are considered "intrinsic" for each site in the SE network considered to be "private information"? I was about to ask a question asking which tags are considered "intrinsic" for all sites, but I found this post, and it says that the info is only available to moderators, not to the public.

I'm... also not 100% sure that intrinsic tags 'work' the way they're supposed to anymore either though

@Mrs.Robinson yeah, it works as a blacklist - but the special part about intrinsic tags was supposed to be that they still allowed inbound migrations with the tag, silently stripping it. While blacklisted tags blocked the migration entirely.

I'm... Not sure off-hand if either of those is still true

(they should be, but it ain't exactly the most transparent system)

@JourneymanGeek but they don't necessarily depend on one another, i.e. one can focus on any aspect they like, without knowing about the whole machine
