The recent retagging discussion had three sides to it:

1. Some folks argued the tags shouldn't have gone in the first place. Everyone needs some Lego.

2. Some folks argued that all retaggings should undergo the same bureaucratic process, with at least one meta.SE post no one would in reality care about.

3. Some folks argued that flooding the main page, retagging en masse, rendered it unusable. Valid point to be fair.

Someone do the Venn diagram. I'm not good at getting those done in time. I always end up resizing the same circle to find the perfect shape.

I pointed out vaguely that these should be differentiated and dealt with separately, and interestingly I do see answers focusing solely on one aspect than the others, but

Right now the post is a mishmash of opinions with no real conclusions. The retaggers weren't convinced they should have done things differently, and the proposers weren't convinced either of why a post for each tag is impractical.

Blaze monitors new posts and comments, but also new users, on a specified site, and lists them

It's pretty close to real-time compared to the users page, so you could probably use it to nuke the users before they get into chat
