Q: When separating an Oreo cookie, why does the cream stick to just one side only?

JiminionThere is probably some reason for this, but I can't figure out what it is. I agree that it probably doesn't happen 100% of the time, but most all of the time, the cream is clinging to just one of the cookie sides.

So great.

Oh, whoa, clear suspect for those funny close votes.

Fortunately we're not adding more users or mods or anything, so our workload stays pretty static.

@Torisuda That's one of the reasons I thought this request was sketchy. Nowhere in the claim did they in any way identify specific content that was being infringed. They just listed a bunch of titles of work and a list of links where those titles appeared. But a title is trademarked, not copyrighted, and DMCA is not applicable to trademark violations and cannot be used for them. In my personal opinion, this request smells horribly of DMCA abuse for something that DMCA is not meant to be used for, but I don't own any of the content and there's nothing I can personally do about it. — animuson ♦ 33 mins ago
I spend so much of my life turning inside-out socks inside-in.
It's one of the more annoying things I have to do.
Can be combined with a less annoying thing, though. Listening to music, etc.
Like most tedious tasks, if you arrange your environment suitably you can essentially program your body to take care of them while your conscious mind does something more enjoyable.
...or broods, torturing your soul until in desperation you start throwing socks around the room to distract yourself. Whichever.
unless you are working at a laundry, I find the claim that ' spend so much of my life turning inside-out socks inside-in' indicates that you are a person of low efficiency
perhaps he has very sweaty feet, and must change his socks every 15 minutes. Have pity.
1:37 AM
sometimes I go multiday hikes, and come back with 8-10 pairs of socks
less than 2 minutes job folding them the right way

> BLUE APRON SPENT $66 MILLION ADVERTISING ON PODCASTS IN 2016. -- Jarrod Dixon at 6:54 PM - 1 Jun 2017
Remember when the podcast had a "featured site" section where they talked about what's going on with some SE site? And announcements of new betas...
Blue apron can do that because they make ridiculous amounts of money selling basic recipes and tiny portions of overpriced ingredients.
Although one of my friends did once get a shipment of like 3 weeks worth of meals sent to her by accident, and they told her to just keep it. So she distributed the wealth. That was kind of awesome.
currently, I would like to boast my lawn mowing skills - 1000 square meters of lawns mowed within 50 minutes time with a self propelled lawn mower ... I have not mowed any lawn for at least 5 years before April this year, and wouldn't be doing it any more for a few years after I think ...

What's the easiest way to find HTTP images - now links - on a specific site?
4:02 AM
@Gerry SEDE
@Gerry I think I already have a query for that. Hold on.
Ah found it lemme run it and make sure it's what I think it is
It's too slow for SO
If you click the image link column on the first result tab to sort it it's easier to pick out http
You could comment out the "By host" query at the bottom i suppose to speed it up if you don't need that info
4:48 AM
@JasonC Thanks, but this isn't that... The HTTP images (that could not be simply converted to HTTPS) became links, so they are no longer images. So the query does not pick them up.
Now it's the question of which links should really be images. :/
![content] (http://www.unidram.de/assets/img/sample.jpg)
^ Apparently, that space was inserted to break the image embedding (?)
But we don't see Markdown source in SEDE anyway. In HTML it appears as <p><a href="http://www.unidram.de/assets/img/sample.jpg" rel="nofollow noreferrer">content http://www.unidram.de/assets/img/sample.jpg</a></p>
4:55 AM
Aha, .jpg</a> and .png</a>, etc should be good enough to detect these.
Hm, I don't suppose the image in this post really needs to be fixed.

@Shog9 o0 I'd assume, while new site additions are slowed down, you'd still be getting new users and mods to some extent
(also, work is really sucking today, and I need to work half day tommorrow)
7:15 AM
@JasonC so why you do it?
I like you way of being lazy :p
7:29 AM

I assume that the socks are rolled the other way when they are taken off
@ShadowWizard because i dont want to wear inside out sock

@ShadowWizard no they turn inside out when i take them off
14 messages moved to Chimney
then they stay inside out until i was them. also i take them off a lot i usually only put them on to go outside. so lots of inside-out socks.
why am i explaining this, lol
@JasonC you need to optimise your sock removal methods then
depends on what you optimize for. it's a trade off of take-off ease vs avoiding inside-out cost. you can't have both.
grab the end, pull it off from that?

"35 years of struggle ends now" can be read in multiple ways.
I feel like your work life is good fodder for a ... straight-to-web miniseries or something.
Also how young were you when you started turning socks inside out?
3:32 PM
@Gerry I'll leave the interpretation as an exercise to the reader. Open-ended statements stimulate great imaginations.
I dunno, the first time I took my socks off without my mom's help, I guess. So... 34?
You were 34 then? Well, better late than never.
I'm pretty sure Jason is still 34, so now the frustration with spending time on socks makes more sense.
me, I just step on the toe of one sock with my other foot, and step out; eventually the sock rips in half and I buy more socks.

Two great ones for you:
1) If you shake and hang your shirts while they're wet, you don't have to dry or press them.
2) If you work from home, you don't have to wash or press your clothes at all.

The .cshtml view of my new feature is 1500 LoC and looks like its going to render to close to 50,000 lines of html sometimes :(
Divide to several views?
AngularJS is great in this, easy to split everything to many small views.
9:39 PM
It is kind of an all in wonder type of deal.
all in wonder?
wonder what it means.... :D
It is easy to view, the data is tabulated, each tab has sorts and filters, there are collapseable trees, and a set of d3.js heirarchal graphs
@TravisJ sounds like good toolbox
But not related to the view itself?
What do you mean?
I made filtered tabled by myself, took me half a day, but turned out better than everything I found, guess because AngularJS and jQuery plugins don't really go together... :/
9:42 PM
Ah, yeah, a long time ago I wrote a filter/sorter plugin that I use.
@TravisJ tabular data, sorts, filters, trees... all sounds like controls you can put in the view, but why can't you split the view itself?
ah, I see. Not tabular data, sorry. There are tabs, like in chrome, with things like verbose data, path data, graphical data, statistical anaylsis
hmm.... oh well.
I suppose I could make each tab a partial view, but then that would only make it look like it was less LoC server side, it would still send a large set over the wire.
Modern browser shouldn't crash even with 50000 lines of HTML.
Except Edge of course.

Wait, Edge is not a modern browser. More like a painted version of the most primitive browser that exists.
yeah 50k lines of html is fine, I have tested 800k before in ie8 and it worked.
So long as there aren't more than like 5,000 elements being rendered at once the browsers tend to be okay
@TravisJ really??? So you must have a magical IE8.... :D
hah, yeah well, all you really need is meta
