? Sounds vaguely ominous, but there may be a reference I'm missing...

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Manually reported answer: When Should I replace the rotors on disk brakes? by user32606 on bicycles.SE

@Gerry - Maybe it is for the Documentation feature at Stack Overflow

Pretty sure it has to do with this - reddit.com/r/google/comments/692cr4/…

Nevermind

9:19 PM
Ah
That's why you have blue feet, and the rest of us have normal colored feet.

I want to rant about something totally irrelevant to the conversation. But I spent too much time staring at computer screens today and the idea of making coherent sentences is not appealing.

You should really cut back on youtube comments. It sounds bad for your health.

Lol
Well this rant is about systemic flaws in SE stuff. It's one of those rants. Way too hard to keep under control and precise. It's probably better to just say "ah, f it".

9:33 PM
Also wtf is up with people making crap edits to duplicate posts instead of finding the dupe and voting to close. That's a peeve of mine lately.

@JasonC huh? Where?

It's way more useful to find a dupe than it is to misapply already-misapplied kbd tags or whatever.
@ShadowWizard Everywhere?
It's a trend lately.

Or always and I'm just noticing more lately.
Sure

I see answers to dupes, almost identical to old answers, but not sure what edits you mean?

9:39 PM
Then I guess you'll have to be satisfied in not being sure what edits I mean, because I can't come up with any reason that spending time copying + pasting random examples here can benefit me. :P

The "power user" just improved a suggested edit

9:41 PM
Sure that's one example

and given that even SE employee didn't bother to look for dupe and posted answer....

That's just one example. Any specifics you want to pick out of that one arbitrary example are totally irrelevant to me.
Not my fault you didn't pick a better example. :P

Ooh, Senseful's ASCII table generator was forked and is operational again.

user315433
Too bad I got sick of answering spreadsheet questions long ago, or I'd be using it.

user315433
The mix of tenses in What features did the Community Team discuss, have implemented, or have denied last month? keeps bothering me, but I'm not a native speaker... What do you think?

user315433
With "last month" time reference I would normally use Past Simple.

Is it possible to flag this stupid dialog that appears the first time you come into this chat? It looks to me that it's a little bit rude and mainly annoying.

user287113
10:28 PM
Now let's joke a little bit.

user287113
What's the status of implementation of an automatic rejoin for multiple chats on StackExchange?

user287113
absolute zero

user287113
of course, it makes sense!

What dialog are you talking about?
Also if you want rejoin you can favorite the rooms you like then the "rejoin favorite rooms" button is easy enough to press. You can also just directly visit chat.meta.stackexchange.com/chats/join/favorite.

user287113
The one that says: remember that this is a StackExchange chat, so the policy of the community also applies here.

10:41 PM
Doesn't seem rude at all and in any case problem solved, you'll never see it again.
I think I saw it once 4 years ago or whenever, too.

user287113
I mean, if I wanted to insult, unless there's an "intelligent" robot controlling my keystrokes, I could do it anyway

I don't actually ever recall seeing that ever

Meh, you'll never see it again.

user287113
ok

user287113
anyway, I was being a little bit sarcastic, of course

user287113
10:44 PM
:D

user287113
@JasonC Does this "favorites" feature work throughout all Stack Exchange communities?

Every chat server is the same.

user287113
It doesn't look to me

So yes they all have the same buttons and same favoriting system.

user287113
that it works for all communities...

10:48 PM
Obviously you'd have to substitute in the correct chat server in the URL chat.meta.stackexchange.com/chats/join/favorite. There's three servers.

user287113
*not throughout... sorry for having expressed myself so badly

chat.meta.stackexchange.com is the MSE chat. chat.stackoverflow.com is all the SO rooms. chat.stackexchange.com is every other site.

Or just go to the chat server home page the "rejoin favorite rooms" button is there. There's plenty of ways to access it. Explore a little and you'll be able to answer all your own questions.

@JourneymanGeek Relatively new. Here's what it looks like:

Q: Typo in chat pop-up

The Dark SideNot of any major consequence, but there is a small typo in the new chat pop-up reminding everyone to Be Nice, as the image below indicates: "Keep these mind" needs to be changed to "Keep these in mind".

10:50 PM
(also, for one of those things that's been slightly demphasised over time IMO, SE does chat very well)
@JonEricson yeah, I've been on chat... a while

user287113
:D

Never seen that with this account or aibobot

user287113
sometimes I'm really lazy

user287113
but not as lazy and good at the same time as haskell

user287113
and I thought my jokes were bad

...

I can confirm, they are.

Just a random thought: I think every person in the world should work in agriculture at least once a year.

Bioinformatics is 94% committed. The most frequent comment about it is "why create this, if we already have Biostars?" So I had to look... biostars.org

user315433
Not bad quantity-wise. Apparently this is based on some SE 1.0 site?

18 minutes to think of the most offensive comment you possibly can and post it. You all ready?

user315433
Why a comment, make it the title of a question posted at 23:59

If you time it right so it stays on top of Stack Overflow homepage, 15 minutes of fame are yours.

Stack Overflow/Stack Exchange Read Only testing will begin in 15 minutes. See http://stackstatus.net/post/160088635679/brief-outage-planned-for-wed-may-3-2017-at-000

@Gerry I triple dog dare you to edit the title of the formatting sandbox post.
Btw remind me next Sunday to do a query to figure out who got the very last actions in before the test.

user315433
I don't have 2000 on Meta.

... I'm totally going to get myself suspended on MSE.
I can't think of a good title, I'm torn between "Magnets, how do they work??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" and "How do I weave baskets under water?"

Theoretically our Smokey problem should be fixed now...
