Wow, Lifehacks really is an awful site. When did humanity completely and utterly lose its basic problem-solving ability?

when did humanity have that ability?

At some point in the past 30 years we did.
"How do I kill a fly without a fly swatter?" Really? Just freakin' grab anything, and kill it.

get a cat
it helps if the fly and the cat are in an enclosed space with a lowish ceiling

How do I stir coffee without a spoon? How do I keep my car doors from hitting the wall of my garage?

"how to I get upvotes on lifehacks?"

7:17 PM
Dear Lifehacks, how do I put my shoes on if they are on the other side of the room?

get a dog to bring you the shoes

"How do I ask a question on LifeHacks?"

have your cat walk on the keyboard
all problems are solved by pets

Good point.
Dear Lifehacks, I'm out of food, and my dog is hungry too. How do I eat without going out to get food? (Note: I have clippers, a nice set of knives, and my dog fits in my freezer, not sure if that helps)

@JasonC move to an earthquake-prone location
@JasonC get a goat. let the goat eat everything. get a mountain lion. let the mountain lion eat the goat. Eat the mountain lion

Dear Lifehacks, where to get mountain lion? Urgent plz help. TIA

go to the mountains and try to look tasty

@tchrist wouldn't that just let somebody flag it as a duplicate again?

@yellowantphil No, we would kill it quickly then.
I still think we need just two more delete votes for the first one.
What is with you people being so stingy with the delete votes? :)

serial-upvote me until I can delete vote

Q: Network Engineering site design

Kurtis BeaversI’m Kurtis, senior product designer at Stack Exchange. First, I wanted to congratulate you because this site is now starting the process of moving out of beta to become a fully-graduated site! Well done! Graduation and Your Site Design Graduation comes with a few perks. We have already started ...

So, no graduation with a twist, just the normal process.

@bummi that user disclosed his affiliation. Does that make it any better?

@yellowantphil that's why I'm struggeling

I flagged it as spam before I thought about that. The answer is probably doomed.
probably counts as spam since it's that user's only contribution to the site so far

10:52 PM
@yellowantphil IMHO not, that way anybody could flood with I'm the author, buy my product, I'm not happy with this disclosure paragraph, but that's my personal opinion

true, that would be an easy formula for spammers to follow

let's take those my vodoo doctor mail at ... it's an implicit disclosure, our I offer you a job, full disclusure

user259867
@bummi I flagged as spam. It does not attempt to answer the question. Not useful or relevant, but promotional.

[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: DISCRITE COSINE TRANSFORMATION by karthik karanam on dsp.stackexchange.com

11:01 PM
@SmokeDetector Note to self: farm rep to downvote on DSP.

user259867
@bummi Maybe. My understanding is that the part about disclosure applies to posts that actually answer the question. If someone posts an ad for weight pills that doesn't address the question, then saying "I'm a rep of this company" won't save it.

yes, that answer was pretty weak

@2mkgz agree, but you know of those (high rep) "spammers" who are regularly promoting their product, I've to admit I have a problem with those. We nuke the newcommers and the settled ones (with disclosure can do what they want), sometimes I refrain from flagging on those drive by spammers since high rep spam is on the same question (Some of those questions can't be closed, since they are not explicit rec).

11:20 PM
where's that meta post with a simile about someone asking for a monument and you tell them to go to a map?
