On the topic of chat not working... does anyone else get "This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed to the new location?" every hour or so while The Tavern (or any other room) is open?

@TimPost The top thing here. (Note that this post isn't quite up-to-date.)
I remain surprised at how violently that proposal was hated. I wonder if the OP already e-mailed team@, since his second post said they were the ones who told him to ask on Meta.
@Lix It's SPAM. When you boil it down, it comes to 'pay us for this and we'll do this', I don't see any reason to extend that user the convenience of leaving it around.
This whole 'Stack overflow is full of insecure code that people might run, let us check it for you' crap just did not set well with me. With (how many questions do we have) how could it not be?
He presented it extremely poorly. I think he was offering this to SO for free as a way to drum up publicity for his company, but you could be forgiven for reading MSO and not knowing that.
Argh. Shouldn't be so hard to figure out whether I was A) nobly defending a poor new user who was being unfairly maligned, or B) a pitiable victim who had the wool pulled over his eyes by a slimy spammer.
I guess I just don't like deletion on Meta much. It's possible for a truly stupid or impractical suggestion to be on-topic and valid.

Well, there have been discussions before about the correct way to handle posts that are vulnerable to SQL injections and stuff. Here we get to see how people feel about one possible approach. =P
It can also be helpful as a "look, we already had this discussion" in the rare case where someone comes along later with a similar off-the-wall proposal.
@timp - possibly none - but other feature requests wouldn't be obliterated like that... Regarding the double post - why can't it be assumed as simply a misunderstanding of the system?
If some company could magically poke around all code posted on SO and send us improvements to apply .. well .. you know, they could also just suggest edits.
Yeah, I mean 1 - It's FUD. 2 - It's smoke an mirrors and 3 - There's no concrete implementation to test. Right now, it's just SPAM, and every second it exists they get more traffic.
> It was later discovered that Sammy Sosa had locked the real Mark Prior in the managers office while Matt Clement wore a mask of Prior, designed by teammate Kenny Lofton, and pitched for him on that day. Cub Manager, Dusty Baker, praised Sosa for such his veteran leadership and coming up with such a great plan.
@PopularDemand Is that the person that sets the tee back up after I knock it over repeatedly with the bat because of my lack of coordination and depth perception?
> [Alex Cora] would hand out free Honey Baked Hams to people before games on the 4th of July and had even been known to give out bottles of Crown Royal to bums in his community.
The fact that you're offended offends me. It's actually rather difficult to get published on McSweeney's; I've known more than one good author whose submissions were rejected.
scripted responses [009 waste]: better to just skip the question if you aren't experienced or knowledgeable with the topic -- i don't support chatter (which is also against stackex policy) cluttering up questions across stackex sites, and being pretty much all waste -- thanks! — designparadise7 mins ago
Some of us posted joke comments under a not-very-good post, and the author got offended that we were using the comment space for non-constructive content.
I have got to find a better "dynamic thing to keep in the background at work" than The Tavern, and get away from SE madness. Maybe an aquarium simulator.
Eh ok. Tbh, seeing wild Jew on the Internet is a bit offensive, but I get the impression it wasn't malicious, as long as that's the case, it's all good.
