As I think about the problem, I believe that you need to calculate the distance from every point to every other point to know which is closest to which. So you have to effectively have a NxN grid for N points, no?
Then once you have the distance from Nsubn to ever other Nsubn, you need a ranking...

I don't know how likely that is, but if we assume that the points all lay on a sphere surface, then it could be done. Equally if he had a perfect n-gon in space

and since lower just mirrors upper on x=x I won't clutter the whole screen with each point. All that calculated using the whole sqrt( (x2-x1)2 + (y2-y1)2 ) formula

I'm considering building a family-only database backed photo tagging system like facebook's (but with a lot more privacy natch) so the family can all backup their photos and tag them with each other and give details on the photos. I haven't decided yet if that's a worthwhile project, and haven't looked to see if anyone has done something like that already
and with my sister in law breaking her laptop recently, and another one losing hers to a fire last month, then they would figure out pretty quickly that it needed to be done. I could setup an auto-uploader tied to their account that would go through the my pictures every so often and upload new ones. I haven' thought it all out just yet, but I'm thinking about it
@Chacha102 you could always iframe the SO one in a tab :p ... idk how that would look, and then there's issues of themes conflicting, I would just put the flair and a link around that paragraph somewhere. Maybe a separate <p> at the end of that paragraph with the flair and a link "go see that page" into a target=_blank

@TheUnhandledException yeah I know it can. However I've a toddler that doesn't sleep. I'm busy at work. I'm trying to keep up photography as a hobby. So its hard to fit everything in. SO really isn't a priority. In fact I don't really know why I'm in this chat room. I'd love to have more time for code, family, hobbies, work, sleep etc.

@TheUnhandledException really I just think there's some emotional construct that we're omitting in our families nowadays, so broken homes, orphans, emotionally disturbed homes, etc

You know I've my doubts about those increasing cases things I think ADD and ADHD wern't recognised till reciently. So as more doctors read up on them and learn about them theres going to be wider diagnosis. Hard to explain
@drachenstern Does the same thing, but violates that concept of only using GET for requests. (possibly) No possibly about it. GET requests should not have side effects. They should merely request (hence the name GET)data.
