Q: Is everyone in favor of the new "everyone can edit" idea? Is this really such a good idea?

As described in Diff is Hard, Let's Go Shopping! [The team is] planning to open the floodgates and allow everybody to submit content edits on posts Am I the only one who sees this undesirable? In fact, the more I think about it the more I think it has the possibility to be a really bad idea...

@Josh Well, sure. But I'm sure a lot of crap in need of edit isn't necessarily seen by someone with 2K, so I'm not sure I see the evil in letting lower rep users contribute by way of reviewed edits.

@TimStone Depends on how much lower, in my opinion. 1K? Sure. 500? Let's give it a shot. 1? Bothers me

I have a great lack of faith in people though :-)

I do too, I just think that they're more inclined to continue with other obnoxious behaviours instead. :P

Give people one more way to misbehave and they'll do it, for sure

Plus, I imagine if it got too bad they could do like the flag thingadongdong and just discredit people who repeatedly suggest edits which are rejected.

I ask MSO Tavern ... did i go too far in responding to a recruiter that got my email and sent me an opening for a part time desktop suppoirt position:

I was wondering where you got my information from, and I assume you have my resume. So i Was wondering what you though in there would make a good fit for a "Desktop Support" position. You should know i'm one of two systems administrators for a top 300 website, and would require 300k/yr, 60 days of vacation, and equity in the company to consider a transition to this position.
