My previous answer was missing your point. The problem with your code is that you're not using the Pickler and Unpickler objects. Here's a working version with multiple dump calls:

If you pickle them together, the pickle module keeps track of references and only pickles the foo variable once. Can you pickle both foo and bar together, like this?

@Hogan I believe it worked fairly well with a relatively new local restaurant. $25 for $50 worth of food, where avg bill for 2 people is > $100. Got lots of people who didn't know it existed and liked it in.
Why they recently did the same Groupon deal again completely baffles me. You don't want to train people who were already planning to come back to wait for the deal.
@mootinator Ah but that is different than the deals described in those articles. If the avg bill is >$100 when they are only giving a %25 discount at most on the standard cost.
In the examples they were giving over 100% because they had to pay all of the money to groupon AND the deal was more than most people would spend (thus they lost more on overhead than a standard person coming in the store.)
