The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime is an adventure computer game developed by Presto Studios and published by Bandai in 1997. It is a complete remake of the original Journeyman Project, using some of the actors from The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. == Story and gameplay == Like the original, this game is played from a first-person perspective, but static location images have been upgraded with walk animations like The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. The story follows the actions of Temporal Agent Gage Blackwood who travels to three separate points of past to stop three androids...

another mse post about niceness in comments
flamewar in 3..2..1
@Magisch which? By Tim yesterday?
It's not about niceness, it more about not being not nice. There's a subtle difference.
ehh
I actually think that's missing the point
It tells us what not to do, without really telling what we can do instead.
6:52 AM
and its probably going to be really hard to manage cross network
(telling "don't comment" doesn't count.)
@ShadowWizard actually...
that's almost a good solution
"don't comment"? Sure. It solves everything.
Well
so... there's a fundamental issue - that we're all using comments wrong.
I mean, literally everyone.
so remove the option to comment and be done with it. :)
6:53 AM
(all the way back to Jeff.)
(half serious ^^)
ah! But but...
The experiment on IPS ... actually works well
Treating comments as everything else, and discouraging noise (as my answer says ;p) would help do this too
and I don't like "don't be condecending" as a guideline cause that's something that's so heavily dependant on your point of view
and asking the dumb seeming questions can help
@JourneymanGeek If that is the case then SE needs to consider to change their expectations of what comments are for.
@Magisch which ... is happening?
Because you can't force change on an apparently entire userbase by fiat like that
6:59 AM
slowly, but it is
hah.
Its happened a few times?
I comment a lot. Otherwise, I go to chat and comment a lot.
Chat's fine ;p
@JourneymanGeek Quite a few things were left out from IPS's version versus Area 51's version.
in The Awkward Silence on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, 13 hours ago, by gparyani
For instance, "show [x] comments" was still used here, along with "add comment" for the submit button. On Area 51, the former was renamed "show [x] improvement suggestions" and the submit button was changed too. I brought this up to Shog in a meta comment and he refused to change it.
@JourneymanGeek I guess you didn't read the notice here that as the answer is very old, a comment is unlikely to be of benefit.

Looks like I missed most of the drama here after I left to see the eye doctor ...
On the positive side: my eyes are fine although I can't see a thing now without zooming ....
@rene didn't wanna comment it on there, but I distinctly remember flagging that guy who knows how long ago when I was still doing serial voting flags
@rene that.. doesn't look like "fine" :/
@rene did they put a dilating agent in to measure it better?

@rene I wouldn't waste your breath with that one.
8:52 AM
I reckoned that... at least I tried, right?
@YvetteColomb I'm curious. The user claims he has not been contacted by mods, but he has been on the recieving end of at least 4 vote reversals.
Is he trying to fool people for support or?
The reversal seems automatic this time. Was the mod notified about every automatic reversal?
At least the previous "User was removed" reversals don't usually happen on their own. At least 3 instances of a mod having passed over the profile should have happened before
@SomewhatMemorableName I don't believe there is an auto-flag raised.
That name is familiar though
Sadly there's no easy way to filter your past flags by user
9:06 AM
I did try to warn that user that s/he should keep their head down so as to avoid dedicated inspection of their voting profile/s by mods, but no:(
Meanwhile, unrelated to the recent drama....
My work colleagues didn't say anything when SO got their left nav for public

Q: Site icons displayed in wrong sizes

user1306322On the hot network questions page, site icons are showing 48px versions in 32px sizes: I know there are 32px versions because I recently posted another bug report and looked through all of them. If you replace 48 with 32 in img src, everything will look fine: As of June 2018 this bug is ...

I wanna bump this to get addressed among other design changes
Is that really critical to fix?
well, the design is not critical at all and hasn't been for years, as you know
but it's not gonna take a lot of developer time I'm sure
it's just dumb that it worked as intended for a short while and then got broken again and stayed like this for years
I browse hot questions regularly and get annoyed at the HUUUUGE aviation red circle and tiny icons of security or default design blue icons

@SomewhatMemorableName is stackoverflow not a significant other?
I prefer picking from a list, like marking checkboxes
some people have very unusual to my mind ideas about what's better
Jun 10 at 14:50, by Somewhat Memorable Name
Too much SO influence... reading SO as "Stack Overflow" on IPS.SE never makes sense.
and so I never just install a bundle of things
unless it's RES and I'm out of realistic options
for SE I can still manage my own scripts :p
but I might check those out sometime
1:56 PM
sometimes I got confused too when they're suddenly updated and it broke my workflow
I actually like these but it looks too overwhelming
my biggest problem is probably that I don't know how useful any of these "bundles" of fixes are, so I prefer looking at a rated list of separate scripts
so I can select only the ones I like and not bloat myself with the rest, and also not subscribe to unwanted updates

3:53 PM
for a bug report that was apparently fixed with a firefox update, do I delete the question, or self answer? I thought self answering is the correct way for the bug tag to be marked status-completed, but the answer received a down-vote, so let me know what's the right way to do it in this part of SE meta.stackexchange.com/a/311796
Self answering is fine... not sure why you got a downvote. Maybe someone's still experiencing the issue?
I have problems c&p comments sometimes and I find the only solution is to copy all but either the first or last character and it works fine... so it may not be related to smart quotes?
@Catija this indeed was part of the issue:
> Selecting by dragging also doesn't work, unless if I skip the last character.
but now triple clicking works fine
I use Chrome at work but I'll see if I can reproduce at home tonight.
@Catija cool appreciate it, if it's still not working let me know the FF version, if it's the latest I'll just move the answer into the question as an update
Will do. :) I use FF on a mac, by the way... if it matters.

@gnat yeah, I got "We are currently offline for maintenance" on your network reputation and "oops!" on SO's activity
but looks like it's just you, I just tested mine but there's no problem
user310756
@Magisch I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything.. I wanted to leave a comment though saying.. erm ... let me find out what I'm allowed to say

@YvetteColomb @Magisch pretty sure there's a MSE post on that

A: What is serial voting and how does it affect me?

animusonWhat is voting fraud? Voting fraud is the systematic voting against correct voting rationales. Fraud most often happens with a single user continually voting (up or down) on many of your posts within a short period of time. This is not considered normal behavior and the system will not allow it....

> If the 24 hours has already passed and the suspicious votes have not been reversed, you can then flag one of your own posts and explain what happened so a moderator can look into it. It is generally preferred that you avoid asking about them on a site's meta, since details of the investigation cannot be divulged and you won't actually get any information that will be useful to other members of the community.
so...
any investigation needs to be initiated by the victim
The thing with this guy was
He had 3 events of -60 each for "user was removed"
in my experience that is moderators destroying socks
wrong quote
not necessarily
but plausible
@Magisch it still doesn't need to mean they are involved in it.
user310756
5:07 PM
@Magisch yes or reversal of serial voting
wouldn't say "user was removed"
reversed serial voting says "serial voting was reversed"
"user was removed" only happens when a user is deleted and their votes invalidates. IIRC that can be account merge, sockpuppet destruction or legitimate deletion of a low impact user
this guy had serial voting reversed
(he complained about it on chat)
Just assume good faith for every fresh incident. Let mods handle the cases where a new incident turns out to be a continuation of past doubtful activities.

Q: The "can no longer be reproduced" off-topic close reason on meta should be changed

Sonic the Inclusive HedgehogHere on Meta Stack Exchange as well as on Meta Stack Overflow, we have an off-topic close reason that says: The problem described here can no longer be reproduced. Changes to the system or to the circumstances affecting the asker have rendered it obsolete. If you encounter a similar problem, ...

how often does it get used?
@rene all gone
@ShadowWizard what took you so long? Oh wait ... Thanks! Appreciated!
@KevinB too often IMO
7:41 PM
i mean, it makes no sense for a meta site, so once would be too often
but... if it's not a problem, and is more than a flip of a switch to change it, is it worth it?
@KevinB The "specific site" close reason was also recently edited because it was being misused.
Editing a close reason will not retroactively change past closed questions or even votes. (So you might find a question with two forms of the same close reason, with old votes for the old reason and newer votes for the newer reason.)
@rene not me... just stating the obvious. :D
@Glorfindel appears to be the final deleter of all, no?

You can move it to wherever disaster didn't strike
Or out of the reach of EU when they'll come to seize it.

That le sigh is not welcoming
7:53 PM

I'm going to laugh when all of these new users are just downvoted to hell, spinning in circles looking for an explanation

@canon it is awesome, specially if they find out their only hope is the 6 months, one question regime ...
Lack of downvote explanation is strong reason against this upcoming "Be Nice or Don't Be" policy, but.... maybe not strong enough.
@Mgetz maybe afraid of adblockers. ;)
I'm sure my opinion doesn't count for much. I've pretty much been in maintenance mode for years at this point. Wading through crap to find engaging material is just... tiresome.
Why do downvotes need explanation when the close reason explains what happened?
@ShadowWizard :/
Also, no one said not to explain what was going on, they just said don't chime in with something dripping in sarcasm.
7:59 PM
@TravisJ I'm a big fan of voting to close a question for a very specific reason, only to be lumped in with a bunch of people who closed it for an altogether different, perhaps wrong reason
Okay, what does that have to do with commenting?
