Crickets (also known as "true crickets"), of the family Gryllidae, are insects related to bush crickets, and, more distantly, to grasshoppers. The Gryllidae have mainly cylindrical bodies, round heads, and long antennae. Behind the head is a smooth, robust pronotum. The abdomen ends in a pair of long cerci (spikes); females have a long, cylindrical ovipositor. The hind legs have enlarged femora (thighs), providing power for jumping. The front wings are adapted as tough, leathery elytra (wing covers), and some crickets chirp by rubbing parts of these together. The hind wings are membranous and folded...

Q: A lot of "while this link may answer the question" - what's happening?

lexicoreI've started getting a lot of "while this link may answer the question" review comments recently, on quite old answers (4-5 years old). Ok, I did not have much experience back then, I'd answer these questions differently now. But still, most links are still good and helpful and I'm definitely no...

Pretty quick turnaround.
Though, interestingly, the link-only comment turned out to be the only one retained, perhaps in the hope users will fix their answers.

user315433
Right, the other ones make even less sense on ancient answers. Like an invitation to ask a question.

4:04 AM
I did mention adapting the text for newbies, and Tim Post seemed to like it, but it seems like nothing was done except preempting "but I can't comment!" from low-rep users.

user315433
Also, it seems that "thank you" option was changed to accept instead of upvote. Makes sense.

I've seen some spam written like a negative review of the advertised product, so it seems likely they've scraped Amazon's reviews to train the model and didn't look too closely. (Or they're... counter-spamming a competitor for negative sentiment analysis? Probably not.)

@JeffreyBosboom mainly we use to blacklist the user, in case a future spam item gets posted and missed by this bot
the bot isn't run by se, but the people in here and the other rooms this bot is in take the time to spam flag the posts that come through, so stuff gets handled faster/more reliably.

It seems since yesterday we pissed off quite some people.
Why are new users so rude as to not read the How to Ask pages and then call us rude when their posts are appropriately treated based on how they do or do not fit on the site? (I was a total noob to programming in general when I asked my first Stack Overflow question. I've had no issues as I read the help center. A: How can I destroy sensitive documents without a paper shredder?

Zeiss IkonThere isn't much substitute for the standby methods, burning or shredding. Most secure is to crosscut shred, then burn, and finally disrupt the ashes by grinding into fine powder or washing down a drain.

The problem is that the comment thread spun completely off topic.
That's precisely why you would want to lock it.

Those comments are precisely on topic.
They all directly address ways to destroy sensitive documents without a paper shredder.

detlyI often play Nethack as a monk, so wisdom is a fairly important attribute. Occasionally I will see the message: You feel foolish! You haven't been paying attention. ...which means my wisdom has decreased. The trouble is, I usually get these messages while I'm just walking around, so I haven...

More subtle example of insufficient research effort.
-1: This question shows insufficient research effort, just as the game's output states: "You haven't been paying attention." This may sound ironic, but I'm dead serious. Before posting a question, please do some research and show what you've found – try searching for the message on Google and look at what wikis for the game have to say on it.
