ah congratulations/condolences :D
@ElementsInSpace Congrats! Plucked from a pool of 6 total candidates no less. Use it well!
I was the only candidate at the end of the first week of nominations, so they extended the nomination phase and put banner on every page, until a few more candidates threw their hats into the ring.

What's this... I don't get a +2 for edits on For Teams?
Don't think so
Probably worth discussing the mod team on the TL tho
Well, I guess I'll stop trying to clear out your "dosen't"s.
I was 3 down, 5 to go.
@ElementsInSpace Everyone gets unilateral edit privileges on Teams, so no rep is conferred. Unless the mod team is different, which I personally doubt, but yeah.
01:42
Yeah, it looks like it. And the privileges top out at 125 rep.
The stacks editor is horrible.
(the interface thing)
Why can't I turn that off.
02:01
It's just like the "new editor (beta)" here on MSE, but it's missing the most important feature.
— that it can be turned off.
02:11
I actually do run the new editor >_>
@ElementsInSpace Geeeeeeeeeeet used to it :)
Yeah I run the new editor as well. I don't run into nearly the same number of issues that others seem to.
@JourneymanGeek Would you mind posting a message in this chatroom (chatroom name omitted)? I'm trying to keep it unfrozen... Thanks in advance!
02:41
@cocomac done
@Spevacus imo strangely the meta one is more developed/better
@JourneymanGeek Thanks!

@ElementsInSpace Well done! In celebration, here's some classic Oz rock: Bow River, by Cold Chisel. I always thought Mossy was a better vocalist than Jimmy.
I can't stop at one... One Long Day.
05:49
@PM2Ring Thanks!
Here's a more recent performance from a bunch of Aussies (of an American song). Get It While You Can, by Lachy Doley & friends (including a couple of the Barnes kids).
meta.stackexchange.com/a/394549/135565 could we get some spam flags in this please? The link OP tried to post looks very sus
@JourneymanGeek How can you be sure that's (going to be) spam?
06:05
Hit edit and take a look
I didn't follow the link (yet)
Something starting with https... script ... I don't know what that means, but I don't want to try it either. Flagged as spam.

@ElementsInSpace yeah it was attempt to load some widget.
Sounds dangerous...
@ElementsInSpace well luckily it's not that easy to hack SE or launch such attack. ;)

lol
People try things

@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry all it takes to bring SE down is just one Möbius UPS.

I now realize the subtle issue that whoever developed the hat-wearing interface in old WB must have faced.
rotation + drag = mess
Rotating a drag show usually leads to a mess, yes.
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Well yes
@JourneymanGeek Tu quoque.
11:50
@SPArcheon rotating me can make a mess too
@JourneymanGeek But if you weren't rotated regularly, you'd get bed sores :P
Its all a matter of how fast you rotate
Or whatever equivalent that doesn't happen on a bed (pressure sores?)
12:10
I was thinking something a little faster :D
12:24
Yeah, I was just typing slowly, those two messages should be directly underneath each other and not interspersed with yours :P
Without rotation, he will only get cooked on one side.
12:49
Just wondering....

Q: How do we encourage edits to obsolete/out of date answers?

TarynAs the network ages and we have answers that are 7+ years old, we run into situations where changes in technology, etc. result in a once great answer becoming out-of-date, obsolete, or somewhat problematic. We don’t want to lose or delete these answers, due to legacy applications that still need...

has anything been discussed in this regards that was not haunted by the cursed SO strangler fig?
IE, it is obsolete because information changed VS "framework versions"
Example of what I mean: It makes sense to keep an answer that no longer works on the current version of JQuery.
It makes no sense to still claim the "Gomu Gomu" fruit is actually a paramecia.
1
Q: What class of Devil Fruit does the Gomu Gomu no Mi come under?

votelessbubbleConsidering the three types of Devil Fruits that have been explained are: Paramecia Type - where the user can get superhuman abilities and change their body parts into weapons, etc. Zoan type - where the user can turn into a particular animal and inherit its abilities Logia Type - where the user...

So, what about accepted answers made invalid by new info?

@SPArcheon Edit them, preferably some kind of timeline-y fashion?
For that anime question, I don't know why it has that many answers instead of a single community wiki one that keeps track of everytime something changes.
@Tinkeringbell ... Interpersonal Skill must be heaven is that is your expectation.
that kind of mess is exactly what I expect on most sites.
Heh. I can only wish IPS was organized remotely. Activity is so low it's not much of a problem these days, but we had loads of duplicate answers in the beginning, just users jumping on HNQ posts and re-posting what was already there.
But the anime question answer would be awesome if it was anything like 'Pre season X episode Y, it was always presented as Z. In episode A, we learn it is actually a B. Even later in season/episode T, the writers revealed it was actually an U!'
That would've been an 'easy' edit, but you don't get rep for such edits, so users make their own answers and those pile up :/
14:00
Or just embrace the chaos
@Tinkeringbell Problem is that if I edit the existing accepted answer, I am basically turning it into something else. If I add one more...
@JourneymanGeek My shirt might get dirty if I try that. Rather not, I have enough laundry to do as is.

This came up on MSO, but this FAQ is kinda confusing because it says "bounty question" when it really should be "question with an active bounty or one you awarded under your question" in the section that's saying you can't delete a bounty question. (That part was probably written before they patched up some exploits with deletion)

A: How does the bounty system work?

This feature was designed to motivate answerers, and help questions get the answers they deserve. Bounty awards a...
