site KO?
chat partially too...
only meta seems affected
nope, other sites are starting to lag too.
seems ok to me
10:31
yep, seems that was just web noise.
I suggest you look at the plate very carefully, bottom left...
11:05
@SPArcheon meh, I bet it's fake.
Not-so-good photoshop.
On Twitter, 80% of the accounts are fake (aka "bots") and same for pictures people post, vast majority are posted after being edited/faked/stolen from difference source.
It's the biggest waste bin in the world. :P
@ShadowTheKidWizard yeah, about that...
I get you still think you live in a decent world...
An electronic license plate (also referred to as a digital display license plate) is a vehicle-mounted identification device that emits a radio signal for tracking and digital monitoring purposes. Various patents including advanced features have been published with the intention of replacing traditional metal and plastic license plates. It communicates directly with the vehicle computer system as well as other remote systems related to vehicle regulation. == Concept == Inventor Dean L. Naddeo published a patent on June 11, 2002, for the improvement of existing license plates. Naddeo's intention...
@SPArcheon I know it's real, the "downloading update" is fake.
People make their living on Twitter by posting things that other people go "OMG that is amazing!!1!!!" and click Like and Retweet. Just some boring plate won't do that magic.
So one must add some spice. Legit? Maybe. Smelly? Very.
So my default view of any picture on Twitter is "this is fake". ;)
@ShadowTheKidWizard coff coff coff...
@ShadowTheKidWizard Its a car youtuber IIRC - so I actually don't think its a photoshop
Also, if that was fake the producer would have that pointed out.
Not Retweet the post.
11:32
@JourneymanGeek Twitterer, or whatever it's called, they make money for advertising products.
He's doing fine job, I'll give him that. ;)
@ShadowTheKidWizard by pointint out how terrible it is?
@SPArcheon Still no proof it's actually showing the "Update" label.
So people get them to try to hack them ...
@JourneymanGeek duh, any kid can probably hack this crap, lol. Change the number, show NSFW stuff on the plate, and much more.
@JourneymanGeek And by sending the link to the "Internet of [you know]" twitter account I may also add, found that there....
11:34
@ShadowTheKidWizard I AM NOT ANY KID
(I couldn't hack my way out of a paper bag either)
@ShadowTheKidWizard so... what isssss he advertising?
@JourneymanGeek JourneymanKid
@JourneymanGeek oh no idea, didn't bother to read.
:P
Could be priceless if that was car plate spam ^
@ShadowTheKidWizard it will happen eventually
@JourneymanGeek paper bag is one of the very few things that can't be hacked, even by the best hacker. :D
Paper bug, on the other hand...
@ShadowTheKidWizard This seem a job wort for Hackerman
@SPArcheon not even him
11:39
The guy hacked TIME. A paper bag is nothing for him.
@SPArcheon why? It draw more attention, help to boost sales.
Reminds of of article I read recently about electric truck.
@ShadowTheKidWizard usual market strategy does not involve giving more visibility to people pointing out your products are bad.
Unless you are Sega.
They built prototype without engine at all, let it go down a hill, and made a video showing how well it can drive.
Think the owners is now in jail.
@SPArcheon not sure. any exposure is good exposure, as it means more people know about your product. Some would surely change their mind at some point. :D
@SPArcheon TIME magazine? Meh, there are worse.
Third time lucky?
!!/coffee g3r
@ShadowTheKidWizard brews a cup of ristretto for @g3r
(two previous pings for Mr. V4 didn't make him reply ;))
11:45
o/
@ShadowTheKidWizard worked so great...
@M.A.R. do you have an electric license plate for your car?
@g3rv4 yay!! What's up?
@SPArcheon that's you?
@ShadowTheKidWizard fans said the original design was trash. Fans said the new design was a little less trash, fans said the final movie was complete, utter, unsalvageable trash.
if that was on purpose... congrats, worked great
11:50
@DavidPostill gone
@JourneymanGeek gone
@JourneymanGeek gone
@Luuklag gone
@Luuklag gone
@ShadowTheKidWizard not much :) cursing at computers
@SPArcheon oh, that. lol
Wonder what @Sonic thinks of Sonic's new design and latest movie?
@Luuklag gone
@g3rv4 does it work? Computer working better after cursing it? :D
Also, try to curse in C++, heard it works better. ;)
> May your pointer get stuck in infinite loop
@ShadowTheKidWizard fun ouroboros: Mario was one of the first videogame movies and still considered one of the worst. Sonic almost stole that title (or actually managed it depending who you ask).
Now it is Mario again that could show people how to make a game movie.
12:01
@Luuklag gone
@SPArcheon easy to measure how successful something is, hard to measure the opposite, yeah.
Feels weird to talk inside backlog, hollow feeling. :P
I feel like @JNat might benefit from the new inbox changes, :D
that said, it may get pretty good competition.
12:03
@JourneymanGeek nah, they'll keep using the OTC.
Open Tabs Concept
^^that
I'd rather have a thousand open tabs than unread notifications
12:04
Maybe if we could Save inbox notifications...
I keep a messy desk and neat tabs :D
keep all the notifications unread, then when you want to go handle them... then open all of them in a new tab :P
@JourneymanGeek I fluctuate between several combinations of messy and neat on the desk and the tabs ;P
@JNat cleaning my desk is a project that I have been trying to get moving for months
Desk is definitely messy right now.. tabs... slightly, there's a few that I should close XD
12:05
@Tinkeringbell @rene has around 10k, pretty sure no browser can handle that many tabs. :D
I suspect I'll just move out and grab what I need :D
my desk is neater than my tabs, at this point
hence the backlog purge ;P
Good reason to do the backlog! ;)
@RyanM gone
@JourneymanGeek Do one of those dramatic arm swipes across the desk and throw everything else on the floor... leave it :P
12:06
won't work either
My desk at work is neat, at home less so because of the kids, they leave random things on it.
Sure, blame the kids :P
@gnat gone

@Luuklag gone
@JourneymanGeek gone
@Tinkeringbell I do!
;)
nice desk :p
12:10
that's actually rather neat
Except for the coffee, small plate, and handcream, it's all the kids. :P
Yeah, that's neat.
Neater than mine at the moment...
is your tower even on your desk?
@Ginger thanks! :)
@JourneymanGeek omg, better not show yours then. I guess! :D
@JourneymanGeek gone
@ShadowTheKidWizard I do have three monitors
@ShadowTheKidWizard it's far better than my desk, which is covered in random electronic components, multiple computers, and something like 5 MicroSD cards :b
@Ginger you mean the computer? Yes, I wanted it to be on the floor, but wife thinks it's better on the desk itself, so there it is.
wow yall have a weird ping sound
@JourneymanGeek so you can go for ultimate realism.
12:12
@Ginger MSE sound, made to be creepy on purpose :P
@SPArcheon oh actually no
I come from The Nineteenth Byte, where we just have the normal "lyxal's fridge" sound q:
Bottom's chat, left is my main monitor, right is my secondary
28
Q: Let us pick the sound of chat ping

Mathieu GuindonGetting ping'd in some chatrooms (servers?) makes a nice little ding!, in some others you get a loud bonk! Inconsistency is evil, this needs to be fixed. Or rather, instead of forcing a uniform bink! on all chat users across the network, how about making the ping notification sound a configurabl...

@Luuklag gone
12:14
of course it's a userscript, why wouldn't it be a userscript
theory: SE and co. have so many userscripts because the ratio between "things the users want" and "things the devs have time to implement or are going to implement" is abnormally high
@Tinkeringbell huh!! You win! But only because you're using that desk much more than me, I'm using my home computer only when working from home, e.g. today daughter is sick so I had to stay home with her.
Hey, I'm also using the desk only for WFH lately ;)
@Ginger true, but there are 0 "official" userscripts, they're all made by private people.
@JourneymanGeek gone
12:16
@JourneymanGeek think of the possibilities ^
and with that, so is the backlog
Okay, I did use it this weekend to file a complaint too :P But before that, can't remember the last time I sat at the desk for non-work purposes ;)
...for now
@JourneymanGeek what you have on the secondary monitor? ;)
@JourneymanGeek all the trains you could drive, all the locomotives DLC you could buy (for about 25$ each)
12:17
@ShadowTheKidWizard 'ideally' its basically 'supporting' information
@Tinkeringbell oh, but how often you work f rom home? ;)
so if I'm posting on SU or writing something, research
sometimes twitter
@JourneymanGeek eww
:D
@ShadowTheKidWizard 4 out of 5 days a week :)
or I have the RSS feed reader on the left and SE on the right
and so on
12:18
@JourneymanGeek ah yes, Stack Underflow /s
@Ginger Super User
Its my 'first' site
@JNat wow, that's awesome!!
even if I have more rep here
@Tinkeringbell need, or greed? :D
@JourneymanGeek forgot the /s, whoops
12:19
(i.e. you have to work from home? @Tink)
my future computer space might be a windowless room :D
@ShadowTheKidWizard I could go to an office, but why would I?
@Tinkeringbell in my case, work efficiency at home drops by ~50%
Eh, that's reversed here. Office days have an efficiency of maybe 10 percent.
12:20
Compared to 100 at home (okay, 80 because of meetings)
OK then, you have my permission to keep working from home. :P
@ShadowTheKidWizard what about option 3) "it is completely useless to go to a different place since I would sit at a desk and work on a sharepoint server that is hosted in some remote MS datacenter anyway?"
@SPArcheon my former job had us in an 'office' that was inside a client facility monitoring stuff running in datacenters...
@SPArcheon lol, that's actually a very good reasoning, but pretty sure you can't work from home even if you want to, working for some very old fashioned boss. Right?
never underestimate corpogovernment stupidity
12:22
@JourneymanGeek sensitive stuff?
Never underestimate any kind of stupidity!
@Tinkeringbell yeah, sometimes they may get it right! :D
Yes but... that ended up in people doing dumb workarounds
13:12
@JohnMiliter k
"k"? As in "tpu-"??? Are you saying that I am spam?????
@ShadowTheKidWizard why
@JohnMiliter Position 3: "not a spammer"
:(
Smokey for modship!
In practice, at least, smokey is already a moderator
13:27
@JohnMiliter You are made of meat
@JourneymanGeek We all are. One day smokey will realize this and destroy us all.
so is spam
are you mechanically separated, seasoned and packed in a can?
Does spam need to be mechanically separated, seasoned and packed in a can to be considered spam?
@JourneymanGeek really thanks for reminding me of that thing.... grr......
I say not. If a post contains spam, it is spam.
13:34
So we are all spam
Beware of the bot uprising against us once they realize this
@ShadowTheKidWizard Super Spam Blue Evolved?
or was that the Ultra Spam Omen?
@SPArcheon nah
Just a can of spam with WiFi connection.
@SPA ^
