not that I'm complaining about the rep but I get confused when posts that are essentially about things that were fixed get upvoted

8:05 AM
@JourneymanGeek well people have nasty habit of upvoting things when they see them, even if old stuff. :D

Not sure why there they would have seen them either :D
(its (one) of the old posts of me complaining about the company dragging their feet on CM hires - which, thankfully isn't really true at this point)

8:38 AM
@JourneymanGeek oh, thought you meant old bug report lol. Well, in matter of upvoting old stuff it doesn't really matter. And even I sometimes stumble over old stuff I never noticed before, following rabbit hole of posts, related posts, comments, etc.

lol
Its just strange to me

Usually ending up in old question closed as duplicate in the old way, so doing my hammer magic to fix it. :P
@JourneymanGeek Stranger Things happen. ;)
Also, my most upvoted answer(s) on SO are steady source for reputation, at least one upvote every week. lol
Anyway, Shana Tova to @Mithical and any others here who might celebrate the new year according to Hebrew calendar. ;)
hmm is it Jewish calendar, or Hebrew calendar? checking
fixed in time.

both are fine I believe

@Mithical oh oops
Well Wiki says "main" name is Hebrew
The Hebrew calendar (Hebrew: הַלּוּחַ הָעִבְרִי, romanized: HaLuah HaIvri), also called the Jewish calendar, is a lunisolar calendar used today for Jewish religious observance, and as an official calendar of the state of Israel. It determines the dates for Jewish holidays and the appropriate public reading of Torah portions, yahrzeits (dates to commemorate the death of a relative), and daily Psalm readings, among many ceremonial uses. In Israel, it is used for religious purposes, provides a time frame for agriculture, and is an official calendar for civil holidays, alongside the Gregorian calendar...

@ShadowTheKidWizard Shana Tova, also chat seems to be back up
or plausibly unstable

@rene @Luuklag I'm curious, since when we close blatant off topic questions as duplicate? It's just waste of time. We should delete them.
Vote to close, if score not -3 yet downvote, once closed, vote to delete. Move to next off topic question ;)
(close as off topic, not duplicate ^)
@Mgetz thanks! Back? When was it down?

on and off this morning, it's been having DNS issues

Or new DDoS attacks.. :/

doesn't seem to be affecting the main sites so who knows

12:13 PM
Well let's hope they'll handle it quickly and effectively. :)
@Mgetz how are you? What have you been up to lately?

The usual stressed way too much and struggling with people that have Neurotypical expectations

@Mgetz sorry to hear that. Hope you'll find a way to have less stress in your life. If there's anything we can do here, well, you already know you can ask. :)

Not unless you know some magical way to tell my mother I may not be able to stay through all of Erev Rosh Hashana because large gatherings stress me the hell out

@ShadowTheKidWizard well, yes, in general. In this specific case I thought they asked about a site where they could "practice" code golf like assignments. So I reckoned hammering it would help us and maybe the OP. It took me longer then anticipated to find a fitting dupe. I might follow your advice going forward. I still think our goals are similar: close and delete as soon as possible.

12:31 PM
@rene well sure, I'm just worried about wasting time. Your time is precious! ;)

It certainly is. Why am I arguing with you? Are we agreeing to disagree?

12:55 PM
